Fleetwood Redesigns Ultra Lights

Fleetwood RV (fleetwoodrv.com)
has redesigned its Pegasus and Orbit ultralight travel trailers for
2007. Starting at less than 3,000 pounds, the models are light enough to
be towed by most half-ton vehicles. The units also feature vibrant
exterior graphics, top-quality interior cabinetry, laminate countertops
in a natural stone finish and elegant interior decor selections.

Mazda Drops Sales Incentives

Mazda has announced that it plans to eliminate sales incentives
for its new CX-7 SUV. After that it intends to drop all sales incentive
programs across its model line, including the Ranger-based B-Series
pickups.

New Cruise Control Uses Laser

Hella has developed its own version of adaptive cruise control,
using a laser rather than radar. Formerly radar-based, these advanced
cruise controls vary vehicle speed to maintain a safe distance from the
vehicle ahead; however, they are expensive to manufacture. By using
laser technology the cost of the unit can be cut in half, according to
Hella. Making them more affordable will allow adaptive cruise control to
be used in a wider range of vehicles.

Helping Hands for America’s Lands

Keeping public lands beautiful is what National Public Lands Day
is all about. The largest hands-on volunteer effort to improve and
enhance U.S. public lands is scheduled for September 30, 2006. Almost
90,000 volunteers participated in last year’s event, building trails and
bridges, removing trash, and planting trees and plants. From federal
land management agencies to state parks and playgrounds in your area,
everyone can participate. For more information: http://www.publiclandsday.org/
