Dodge to Get Mercedes Sprinter Van

DaimlerChrysler will sell the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter commercial van in the United States
under the Freightliner brand, selling it through both Freightliner and Dodge dealerships,
according to Motor Trend magazine. Sprinter is a diesel-powered van with a fuel-efficient,
Mercedes-Benz five-cylinder, common rail direct-injection engine rated at 154 hp and 243
lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy is approximately 22 mpg. The Sprinter will be offered
initially in passenger van and cargo configurations with a base price of $26,300.
