Ford is facing a potential recall of more than four million trucks and
SUVs because their door latches are faulty and were not replaced.

The latches, installed in 1997 to 2000 models, are found in the
F-150 pickup, as well as the Ford Expedition/Lincoln Navigator SUVs and
the Lincoln Blackwood. Some of the latches may have springs that do not
meet manufacturing specifications and may not stay closed in crashes.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is
investigating.
