Ford Sets F-150 Prices, Specifications

Ford will raise prices on F-150 pickup trucks over 4 percent next year. Prices will range
from $19,125 to $35,570 for the redesigned 2004 model, which will be at dealers in
September. Ford charges $19,125 to $34,135 for the current F-150, and will continue to
build the current F-150 into next June as it changes over assembly plants to make the
new-style truck. estimates the new F-Series will be discounted at least 7
percent from sticker prices, compared with 18-23 percent for GM, Dodge and Toyota pickups.
The maximum tow rating for the new F-150 will be 9,500 pounds, with a maximum payload
capacity of 2,900 pounds. The more-powerful, optional three-valve version of the Triton
5.4-liter V-8 will be rated 300 hp at 5,000 rpm, with 365 lb-ft of torque at 3,750 rpm.

General Motors has hinted it will respond with a new “crew cab” model of the Chevrolet
Silverado and GMC Sierra during the 2004 model year.
