Gas Prices Surge Upward

February 14, 2003

A recent Lundberg Survey of gasoline prices shows that regular unleaded fuel is averaging
$1.63. That’s up 11 cents from two weeks prior.

Approximately 8,000 filling stations were
surveyed from coast to coast. War concerns with Iraq and government instability in
Venezuela both have contributed to the price increases. Prices are expected to continued
upward for some time.
