Oil giant BP, NextEnergy Corp. and DaimlerChrysler have jointly opened a new hydrogen
refueling station located at the NextEnergy Center in Detroit’s TechTown technology park.

The new station, which is BP’s third in Michigan, will help develop real-world experience
in hydrogen-fueling and help build public awareness. BP also has established
hydrogen-fueling stations in Florida, California, and overseas. BP produces about 5,000
tons of hydrogen per day worldwide.

NextEnergy is a nonprofit organization founded to
accelerate the development and commercialization of alternative-energy technologies.
NextEnergy also is working on standards needed to regulate hydrogen refueling.
