National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) results from the latest crash tests for pickups have been announced. Both the two-door Dodge Dakota and Toyota Tacoma got five-star rankings for all seat positions in 35-mph frontal-impact safety and side-impact tests.

Ford’s F-150 and Dodge Ram 1500 pickups both scored five stars in frontal impacts. Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra (both two- and four-door models) received four-star rankings for driver-side frontal-impact safety and three stars for passenger-side, frontal-impact crashes. GM trucks scored four stars in rollover tests, but compact Ford Ranger/Mazda B-Series 4WDs only received two stars.
