Any Isaacson has written a fantastic article for the New York Times about what RVing is really about — the journey.

From there, he grapples with all the oddities of RV travel (where to camp, how to dump and how to pay for gas.) His journey, however, awarded him with what all RVers know and love — a bevy of roadside wonders and a handful of characters one could only meet on the road.
