RE: Upgrade to Toy Hauler - Heartland Cyclone vs Keystone Fuzion

We are looking at these exact same models and I always preferred the Fuzion, but the Cyclone is starting to win out for us. We have found all 3 tanks in the Fuzion to be a bit larger, but not by much. The Fuzion has the 2nd gas tank. One for toys and one for the genny. You get the extra chair in the Fuzion so another place to sit vs just the dinette/couch. The converter in the Fuzion is 100 amps vs 80. You get (3) 30lb lpg tanks vs the 2 in the Cyclone, but in my last trailer I could go 3 weeks of camping and still not burn through 2 tanks, so while having the third tank seems great I don't believe its a necessity for us. Thats about where the pluses end for us in the Fuzion. As far as the Cyclone. The cabinets are nicer and feel more solid. The drawers pull out nice and smooth. The couch/dinnete is much more comfortable. The tv is mounted not in the kitchen taking away from cabinet space but on the wall surrounded by more cabinet storage. The basement has more storage as the Fuzion has one side more narrow than the other. The bed is more comfortable vs the spring mattress in the Fuzion that finds a spring going right up your rear end when you sit on it. I like the new Cyclone design of the rear convertible bed/sofa/table vs the picnic table layout in the Fuzion, though I have yet to see the Cyclone design in person, so it may not be as great as it seems. We liked having the pocket doors in the bathroom and bedroom vs swing doors which made it feel easier getting around. We liked having the sliding patio door to the garage vs the swing door making the living area feel a little more open, especially in a smaller toy hauler. The fit and finish on the Cyclone we looked at was better. Heck the swing out counter extension in the Fuzion was not installed correctly so there was a gap and it sloped down. If you put something on there it would slide off. Could that be fixed? Absolutely! But it just called out the attention to detail that was not present in the build. That particular Fuzion might have just been a poor example of the product they really put out, so it might not be exactly fair to judge them on this one trailer. From what I have read it seems the two brands are pretty comparable. Both have people who love them along with their detractors. In the end I think it can almost be a******shoot and it comes down to the features that work for you and the feeling in your gut. Neither are perfect. Good luck in whichever you choose.

RE: Fuzion 383 discontinued

I don't know if it ever changed, but on the fuzion website it used to say "Dealer Only" next to that model. It might have just been a special run for the dealers to stock and not something for the customer to order?

RE: Mammoth Mountain Area Riding???

Well, I guess its summertime again as people are starting to talk about coming to Mammoth. Please for your safety and enjoyment –stay away. Our skies are just to clear for someone from the lower elevations that's used to breathing city air. You can get sunburned and develop skin cancer. We have real wildlife here, bears, raccoons, those dangerous chipmunks, and even fish in our streams & lakes. Why just last week Monster Quest did a show on a “Family of Big Foots” living around Mono and June Lake and don’t forget our afternoon temperatures can reach almost 90. Please think twice before coming here you may not want to expose your family to such an area. Enjoy your summer. Hap LOL...Too funny. Its a great area. I just watched a show a few months back about one of your neighbors there in Mammoth, Steve Searles. It was called "The Bear Whisperer" I never knew you had so many bears living there in town.

RE: Ouray, Colorado

http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f81/bigdaddy650r/DSCN1559.jpg Awesome photo don't let the environmentalist catch you!! I believe he said that is water running down the trail from a heavy rain the overflowed from a creek. Not someone actually riding down a creek bed. I have to agree that the picture could be spun in a different way in the wrong hands.

RE: 2010 Dodge Dually GCWR Question

I was actually hoping I was wrong...they made me a heck of a deal on my truck and with the suppliers discount I get, it was really looking sweet, but appears the "deal breaker" on this particular truck will be the 3:73......need to find one, the Dually Laramie, with a 4:10 in it, or wait for the 2011 Duramax to see what it's going to cost....... Dodge guys, where are you??? Why don't you just order the Dodge you want from the factory? I know you won't get the supplier discount, but its not like thats the lowest price you can get either. If you spend some time you can negotiate down to the supplier price or better. I qualify for the "supplier price" from each of the Big 3 and while the price is nice you can do better. Last year when Dodge was blowing out the 09's it was better to go with the dealers price because they included the factory rebates, dealer discount, holdback cash and they were still willing to deal a little more just to get this truck gone. I couldn't use my supplier discount on top of all that. I would only be able to get the factory rebates, so it would end up costing me a couple grand more especially since the price is set with that particular program and there is negotiating.

RE: Really need your input on a new toy hauler for our family

Before you drive up to Sac call the dealers first. I noticed that on Heartlands website that they list Folsom Lake RV as a Road Warrior dealer and that is not correct. They stopped carrying the RW line last year as they were a very problematic trailer. They had 4 units and sold 3 which lived in the repair facility and the 4th was sent back to Heartland.

RE: 2010 Mega Cab Dually Pics

I have been looking at those trucks, but I cannot find one at a dealer without all that mexi-chrome on the mirrors, door handles, etc. What is up with that???????? This post needs to go away. It is offensive. There are two things I must say; 1) I don't say this because of my "Mexi-chromed" truck. 2) I say this because it is not right to post using terminology like this. Moderator? You don't like the truth huh? Its not offensive. Come on out to California and the only people you see with their trucks all chromed out are the Mexicans. Thats just the way of the world. They like the chrome on their trucks and I don't.

RE: 2010 Rams now have factory spray on bedliner option.

I have a question about this, I have not decided if I want to spray a liner in my new truck. Is there anything wrong with using the box as is for say 5 years and let it get scratched up a little than add the spary in liner? Or does a person need to do when new? I would think you could add really at any time but not smart enough to know better. Jay There won't be any problems using the bed and then putting in the liner. I had Line-x put in my new truck a few years back and the first thing they did was scuffy up the bed to give the product a good surface to adhere to.

RE: Yosemite

Has anyone towed up the pass from Hwy395 into T-Meadows or some of the camps outside the park, quite steep for a 10K T H ?? I have towed my 8K loaded TH over Tioga, going up isn't the problem, going down is. Yep....Isn't that the truth.

RE: Yosemite

My parents go to Yosemite every spring and stay on the valley floor. They have a 32' Alpenlite 5th wheel and have no problem with the roads in, but they are tight. The camp sites can be a pain to back into, so you almost have to know your sites before you go so you know what you can get into. If you are going to go up to Toulumne Meadows the roads are fine if coming in from 395, its the campground there that is tight. We didn't have a problem with our 22' TT but we only got into the first 25% of the campground. The further back you went the worse it got. Almost all very small tent camping at the far end of the campground. I want a 36' TH but its really going to limit the places I can go in CA especially with the new length restrictions in the state parks. Looks like something like a Fuzion 302 might be a nice compromise. If you are going to go to Yosemite you really need to stay in the park to get the most out of it. Having to make that 45 minute to hour drive every day from staying outside the park would get very old.

RE: Discounts on 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins

Just a bunch of opinions, so far. Here is the deal; 1.9% for 60 months, 44,600 out the door on a 56,360 truck. I must say, the truck in this sig is awesome!!! Wait, that's my truck. Can you elaborate on the details? That's a $11760 discount (a 21% discount). Is this what you recieved on a 2010 3500 dually? If so would you tell me where you recieved such a great deal???????? Its not a dually.....Its a 2500

RE: Complete List of Toy Haulers

Here is one I found when I was looking for custom made Toy Haulers: Startracks (www.startracks.org). Their 5th wheel/toy hauler page is here: http://www.startracksmotorsports.com/5thwheel_plan.html Just looked at their site. It looks a little out of date. A lot of their floor plans have a copyright date of 2005. They say they offer a 6x6 conversion, but a lot of the pictures come from USA 6x6 which was a horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, horrible, company which is no longer in business. If they think USA 6x6 was up to their standards that they would pimp them, then startracks would be a company I would really look at hard before giving them any money.

RE: How much should it cost to replace an engine?

Is the 4.6 like the 5.4 in my 1997 Expedition where the body has to come off the frame to replace the engine? Or is there more room with the 4.6 to wiggle it out with a cherry picker?

RE: Toy Hauler - Help the Wife (That Would Be Me)

http://www.northwoodmfg.com/desert/model.php?id=584501728 That would fit the bill for a toned down/non race looking interior.

RE: Ford 5.4L Spark Plugs

I went to Ford dealer to get a quote for my 06 Explorer V8, and the tech advisor started talking to me how they would use helicoil in case of a problem.... He had no clue....That was sad. Guess he was probably thinking of the earlier 5.4's that would just blow the spark plug out of the hole? Then you would use the helicoil and screw in the new plug?

RE: Looking at a 383 Fuzion

If you get a Touring Edition II, they come standard with two air cond. Is the second unit in the garage or the master bedroom.

RE: Would you trade? 2010 Dodge 3500

Has a urea tank, estimated to last 30K miles. I didn't think the 2010 Ram 3500's had UREA. It sounds like the salesman even knows less about the truck than hauling a 5th wheel.

RE: How much to pay for 2010 Road Warrior 405?

Talking to dealers that USED to carry Road Warriors, they should be paying you to take the trailer. If you are looking at spending that kind of money there are better choices out there.

RE: Fuzion 322 T.E. II...a few minor issues.

I have one major issue with mine and that is the wooden frame for the top garage bed. By the sticker in the garage they are rated for 500 lbs. each. I had a 200 pound person sleep in it and it is falling apart. Maybe that 200 pound person invited a 305 pound lady over for some action in that bed and broke it like Goldilocks. What dealer are you using here in Nor Cal?
