That stretch of the road was abandoned years ago, it was quite the road with some real wicked switchbacks, I dare say I would not have wanted to take our 31 ft fifth wheel through there.....

The old road was frickin AWESOME! At least on a motorbike

Geeze years ago might be the understatement of the year, got to be close to 2-3 decades now...

Kinda like the new kickinghorse canyon - old road was fun, new road is navigable while keeping the breathtaking views.

Today August 6, 2009 at 1 PM I will have been married to my highschool sweetheart for 47 wonderful years. We were very young when we married and was told several times we won't make it. Well in 2003 I thought I should not take any chances so I made arrangements, then proposed all over again, took her to Vegas at the Little White Wedding Chappel and renewed our vows.

August 6,1962 married at 1 PM in Danville, Ill

August 6, 2003 Vows renewed at 1 PM in Las Vegas

My oldest son Arthur departed for Afghanistan this morning. He is a crew chief on C-130's in the Ohio Air National Guard. The Guard rotates their aircraft about every 6 weeks, so he should be home soon.

Just before he boarded the airplane.

Loaded and just about ready to go.

Taking-off!

Godspeed to Arthur...you have a wonderful family, Tom!

Seadog, glad you stuck with it!

Don and Shar...I saw the renewal photo first and thought "My gosh, they've hardly changed at all in 47 years!" LOL

I can really identify, though, with the original picture.

Took this last night from my deck.

Ok why is this a clicky instead of popping up?
I know I am missing a step, cannot figure it out.
Will try another, I am a VERY slow learner.

WE HAVE PLENTY OF PATIENCE FOR LEARNING! So glad you

CONGRATULATIONS! Don & Shar - Wow, 47 years. You're an inspiration to us all. :-)

Seadog - You made it! Good job, and welcome.

Bogie - We have a son who spent a year in Afghanistan. It's a GREAT feeling watching them get back off that plane!
