Has anyone replaced the valve stems in the rear tires on a Seneca or Kodiak chassis w/aluminum wheels? The valve stem on the outside rear points inward and is a real bear to get to. I have the pressure pro tire monitoring system and have to remove/reinstall the sensor whenever I need to add air. It is a real PITA. Don't know if its true or not, but one tire shop told me I could not replace the valve stems on aluminum wheels.

You can replace the stems. But replacing them with something that will allow you to easily check air pressure or put air in tires I have not seen. Gemplers has a good selection of valve stems. If one of them will work you can have them changed.
I installed Crossfires by Dual Dynamics. They allow checking of tire pressure and easy inflation of both tires.

Hi Ron, have you had any problems at all with the crossfire system? I have looked at that, but don't know of anyone that has it, except you now. I could still use pressure pro with that, couldn't I? Just one sensor instead of two.

I have had no problems with my Crossfires. I was able to get a upgrade that allows me to install a second sensor for the other tire. Here is a picture of my system.

I removed the center cap to install the Crossfire system as close to center. Upgrade hose and sensor is on left (white tag). Other sensor blends in with center of hub. Since picture was taken I have installed lug nut covers on the wheel studs.

Ron, you have a different system than the pressure pro, but very similar. Guess my question would be why do you need two sensors? Shouldn't the crossfire keep both tires at same pressure? Understand that if one tire completely loses air, the crossfire will shut it down, correct?

Almost correct. A check valve will hold air in the tire that did not loose pressure. But you may not know if one of the tires lost pressure. The sensor may still have pressure on it. The original sensor is on outside tire. Upgrade side reads inside tire.

OK, guess I will check with pressure pro to see if they have such an upgrade. That would sure solve my problem although if there was a valve stem fix for the outside rear, that would solve the problem also.
Thanks, Ron...BTW, are you still in Mesa?

The upgrade comes from Dual Dynamics. I got mine from a vendor at a Rally.
Still in Mesa until Wednesday. Then headed to San Diego for a few days. Then back to Mesa for Easter. Headed to Albuquerque for The Rally after Easter. With all the bad weather this week. I am in no hurry to get back to MI.

I have a TPMS also and picked up the 135 degree extensions available at Camping World. Makes it much easier getting the sensors on and off. Make sure you buy a good quality extension as my first set of Campco's from Amazon was garbage.

bbaree,
We replaced the rear valve stems with Dually Valves from Borg Tire. They are one piece all metal stems. We had a leak problem with the inside tires and the stock valve stems when we installed a TPMS. The stock stems actually have a rigid metal extension about 4" long and the leak occurred where the extension connected to the main stem.
Here is a web address for the Dually Valves http://www.borgtiresupply.com I believe "Tireman" in southern CA also sells similar valve stems.
