A friend has a Tourmaster, and the particle board used to construct the bottom of the slides is already rotting out. (It's an '07 Tourmaster)
The slide rollers are mounted to the body of the coach, and roll on unreinforced areas of the slides, resulting in fractures of the particle board.
This is one example of hidden construction shortcuts taken by Gulfstream that will cost $$$$$ to repair later.

I have had 2 Fleetwood MOHO's and 1 Gulfstream. I will NEVER own another GS. They drug their feet when it came to fixing my issues and there was a lot of fit and finish issues with it. Also there are not very many GS service places compared to Fleetwood.

We are the proud owners of a 2008 Providence 39R. We bought it because of the wonderful layout with the full wall slide. Love the Sitting area in the bedroom area. Nice shower area. Wonderful kitchen area with the pull out counter. Had a few Warranty items taken care of with no problem. The fit and finish is not what we had in the Winnebago Chieftain. I cannot comment on the Gulfstream except that the Winnebago service dealer in Winter Garden indicated they are a troublesome lot.

Riggarrob! First of all I didn't say all Fleetwood coaches are bad. All I said that between the Providence and the TourMaster is like comparing a Cadillac to a Chevy. The TourMaster being the Cady and the Providence being the Chevy. I like some Fleetwood coaches like the American Eagle and Tradition and now they have another, can't remember the name, but they are nice, EVEN the LE is a nice coach. But the Providence is more of an entry level coach in comparison to the TourMaster.
And for your information Riggar, you ask what is a Scenic Cruiser. Scenic Cruiser was the top of the line of the Luxury coaches, up until 2007 where they decided to bring the TourMaster out of retirement and replace the more expensive Scenic Cruiser. I just happen to own one and it has been the perfect coach, NO problems in the last five years on the house part. I did have a lift pump go bad on the Cat engine, but no problems anywhere else. But anyways that does not have anything to do with the original post, but just to keep the RVers that are posting that have never owned a Gulf Stream and are just posting because they heard of a friend or a friend told them even though they don't have any knowledge what so ever on what the real owners have to say. The Gulf Stream TourMaster is a nice luxury coach and if you go to the Constellation it is a real nice 45' coach for the buck.

univmd, how's your Constellation working out for you? It WAS my top choice except I'm leaning toward Newmar because of their solid reputation for quality. But if I could get some solid feedback that the Constellation will have minimal repair issues and be safe in a crash, I'd get that sucker in a HEARTBEAT! I love the esthetics, the bedroom/theater is a freaking AWESOME idea, and the 7.5' ceiling would be noticeably more open feeling than the standard 7'.
Any owners please comment!
