I recently posted about having slide out problems-to the point i thought i had bad rear rollers on the slide's inner tube.
Between the sounds and what i could see of the roller it looked bad(although according to lippert, this is a rare problem).
My slide was sounding so bad i'd cringe when i extended or retracted it. I was almost embarresed at the CG by the sounds it made. It would make grinding noises and the clutch would 'pop' and then grind some more. the room it's self would shake and shimmey. This was on the full sized slide, the smaller bedroom wasn't that bad but was on it's way. add to the noise and shakeing it was taking for ever to come in or out.
anyhow, i went noiseing around lippert's website and found their info sheets'LIP sheets' I know by reading the manual that they do not recommend lubeing these things but the one was on oiling the gear pack assy. Could it be that simple?? figured what the heck, couldn't hurt and i was not getting any return calls on rear roller replacement. read the lip sheet, went out and got a good oil can(pump type) and their recommended oil(mobile 1 10-30 full syntetic) and juiced em up real good. even shot some on the rear roller axel. now think the rollers looked bad because they were binding-not no more. them babies go in/out like new and no noise, shaking or clutch popping. think during the season this will be a regular thing-takes all of 5 min and inital cost(oil/can) was maybe $10.would recommend to anyone who has this type of slide to make this a part of their periodic maint. schedual.

here's the "lip" sheet

Thanks Robbie, I have always used a dry lube on the pinion gear. Now I know what really needs to be lubed. Can't believe I didn't even think about the roller axle.

Ditto on your fix.

I found out the hard way after spray it with slide lube that the dealer said to use. The stuff I had is like wax and is not supposed to collect dirt. Well is sets up and during the winter you cannot extend the slide but a few inches at a time with out popping the breaker. I too by accident found the manual on the i-net and ended up scraping and cleaning all this stuff off the slide tubes and using silicone spray on them and oil on the gears.

Everything works great NOW!

I helped 2 fellow RV'ers with slide problems. Both with Lippert slide systems. Using Slide-Out-Lube-Spray. Cured both slides. I know that Lipperts recommends to not lube. But if you look close at your slide mechanism you will see area's where parts are running metal to metal. These area's need some lube if you want a smooth operating slide.

Wow, Wow and Double WOW... Triple Awsome.. Perfect timing. Just got down washing up the 5vr. Rolled the slide in to clean. Coming in and going out it dragged grunted and clutch slipped.. Put up a fuss. So i figured i should run through manual tonight to see what were the lube points. Because i obviously was missing something when i lubed under there. I never did find much in manuals. Figured i would look at it tomorrow. But seen this and ran out and hit the Gear pack as described in the "tip Sheet" BINGO.. Robbie saves the day... Thanks Robbie.

tried the spray-even with the 25% more i used the whole can on the 2 slides. not saying it didn't do any good but with the worse problem it was hard to tell. sure between the spray and the oiled gear pack it's all working good.
sliding the rooms out/in, what used to feel like forever now takes less than a min. know i am now truely a "Happy Camper"

definatly share your "WOW". thought i was looking at $50(lipperts cost) in parts plus dealer markup and atleast 3-4 hrs labor costs.
honestly i was expecting a $500 fix. i'll take a $10 cost and crawling around under my TT any time. of course i told the DW we were going camping next weekend-for a test drive she said to test em in the driveway and of course i had a reply ready. said it all needs to be taken down(jacks up, rooms in etc) moved around(driving to the CG) and then re setup to give it a real life test it's amazing how far a line of BS will travel if ya plan ahead(knew she would give me a hard time) and make it 'techie' enough to sound plausable tossing in a few terms she has no idea about(a 'gear pack assy' here and 'roller axel' there) i know she wants to go as bad or more so than i do-she just likes to make me work for it

The "bearings" on the shafts look like "oil-lite" bushings we used at work.
They are oil impregnated bushings but They do need an occasional squirt of oil.
I found out two major things working in maintenance 41 years: a little oil fixes lots of things and plumbers shouldn't bite their finger nails.
