We've been traveling with our bunny for 4 years now. At campgrounds my wife walks him on a leash ... amazing how he draws the kids and adults over. We just got a new bunny from the shelter that is being house trained before we take her camping. Bunnies are great pets for traveling as they don't make noise and do not have to be walked. Our bunny, Bugs must be the most well traveled bunny around...crossing the country 3 times.

To update our situation: I got Sylvia-Star a lease and harness and she took to it like a duck to water! I asked the pet food store, near our campsite, if we could 'try before we buy" I put it on her and she took off down the isles like a mad bunny- this store is a huge warehouse and I had a time trying to explain to her that we not only needed to pay for it, but that we were likely not allowed to loiter in the store......We have used it at the State and national parks that we have camp at and it attracts alot of attention; Sylvia loves the star treatment. ......long story shorter, we have been traveling for a couple of months in State Parks and National Parks and have had a wonderful time in "the Bunny Bus" I was surprised at how animal friendly all these places are!

PS. Very few rabbits like the lease and harness- Sylvia is an exception, not the rule.......

Neither Miss Ivy or Mr. Pepper will tolerate a harness. We did have a BunFest this year at Moreau Lake State Park in New York (Adirondack's). I came from Virginia with my two, a couple from New York City came with their four, a friend from Allentown, PA came with her six, a lady from Chicago with her one, and one lady that lived near the park with one that came by every day. During the day all the bunnies were set up in their pens in my campsite as it was the biggest. 14 bunnies in one campsite really attracted a lot of attention.

We had a giant Lop that was leash trained. He loved his walks! I owned a pet store and he was the mascot and one of the stars! Also had a guinea pig leash trained and a betta who came to the side of the tank when summoned
