We are planning a two month trip to Alaska and do not want to take our 5th wheel. We just looked at a Fun Finder 18 ft by Cruiser and liked the looks of it. Any advice would be appreciated on this or any other brands.
Thanks in advance,

Lets hope you're still good "Friend" upon your return as it will get small in a hurry with that length of a trip. Why not your fiver? Last I heard/read, the roads are still good for the most part. We're taking our 30TT next May for our third trip. Too old to struggle.

LOL, some people get along better than others.

My DW would describe that as a cozy trailer and would love it. I have no problem with trailers that don't have slides, for me, it's just a bunk anyway.

Working on our 3rd year with 4 of us camping in this little thing. Now we have never done any 2 month trips in it but if it was just 2 of us, I think we would do ok. It has all the needed comforts for us. The bed in back is comfy and it is nice to still have a sofa up front and dining table. We took out the back upper bunk and made a shelf in ours for more space and a nice open feeling.

Don't like the view?? Then change it and Go CampingOur pics

We did a 6 week trip to Alaska in 2002 in a Lance truck camper so we know what it is to be in "small" quarters. We would rather have our van with us instead of the truck. After 42 years of marriage we do very well on long trips!!

If you are going to haul the `little' RV all the way you might as well haul the 5er. Every day you will appreciate the space.

Some friends of ours did this about four years ago. Left the 5'er in FL, and took an 18' Hybrid TT to Alaska. Upone their return they said they were glad not to have taken the big trailer. The one thing they did was to fabricate a heavy duty metal insert for the wheel wells. The roads can cause some tire problems, and they wanted to make sure the did not end up with internal trailer damage due to a tire issue. They were lucky and had not tire issues on their trip, but they did carry two spare tires and some extra truck parts, just to be safe.

My first TT was a 16 foot Funfinder. There wer four of us and a small dog-good for long weekend trips. Nice trailers, lightweight, and only 7 feet wide-almost did not need towing mirrors. You can turn sideways in some campsites to take advantage of views/privacy. No comment from me on wisdom of TT vs FW on long trip-only YOU can decide how you all do.

There is a relatively new small TT by Heartland called "Edge". If I understand correctly, they are now in production. Great company with service & good reputation. We love our Heartland product. Good luck in your search!

Love my Fun Finder 210 - pulls great and has everything we need. I think you will appreciate not having a large trailer to deal with on an extended trip.
