I have a 2008 Fun Finder X-160. Took it from Tennessee to Montana and Alberta and back in May 2008 (3 women), and then me and the hubs from Tennessee to the Grand Canyon and back. Not one bit of trouble with that little trailer.

I couldn't be happier with my first ever RV!

Regards,
Michelle

I'm a new member. We're looking at purchasing a Travel Trailer this spring, strongly leaning to the funfinder 189 queen bed. Does anyone have any advice for me? It's just my wife and I and we want to put a lot of miles on so would like a smaller unit. (grandkids are expected on some trips)

Working on our 3rd year with 4 of us camping in this little thing. Now we have never done any 2 month trips in it but if it was just 2 of us, I think we would do ok. It has all the needed comforts for us. The bed in back is comfy and it is nice to still have a sofa up front and dining table. We took out the back upper bunk and made a shelf in ours for more space and a nice open feeling.

I wouldn't call that 18CK a small trailer. It's the same size and floorplan as my 19BH. I bought this trailer because of it's bigger size and more functional floorplan for 4 or 5 people over the smaller and more cramped floorplans. Our floorplans accomidate many in comfort while keeping a length that's state park (and other rustic parks) friendly. Your 18CK as well as my 19BH are 22'5" long, 8' wide, trailers. The 189 funfinder is 18'9" long, 7' wide trailer. Much, MUCH, smaller than our Medium size travel trailers.

Have a good one.

I could had lived in my Pop Ups for 2 months without trouble, but they had more living area than the 18' Fun Finder. Both of my PUPs had a 12' walk area offering queen and oversize queen beds. The Rockwood offered more living area comfort but lacked a bathroom that the Starcraft had.

Our 19BH is large and very very comfortable for 4 of us, 3 adults and 1 child. I have seating for 7 and a lot of sleeping for up to 5 adults. I have a larger 71" long jack knife sofa, a 38" wide dinette, and double bed and above that, a bunk.

The main things that I find more comfortable are the large refrigerator with a "large freezer". The oven for 'real' meals. A microwave for left overs. A large tub for offering spacious showering. A bathroom sink with medicine cabinet. A 'comfortable' and large seating area, that offers comfortable television viewing.

The added space over the Pop Ups was nice, but the conveniences of more normal living on longer trips, was the main differences.

So no matter what size trailer you get, I'd make sure the seating area is comfortable, and accessible for watching TV on those rainy or late nights. I'd get a larger refrigerator with a freezer large enough to hold what you like to eat. We like using the oven at home, so on longer trips, having the oven for food we like is very very nice. Also, having a place to take a comfortable shower without being cramped, is very nice. On yeh, make sure you get a shower/tub surround as you don't want to be putting soap and mineral deposits on the actual wall.

These differences wouldn't be a big concern for weekends, but for longer trips, they sure make everything better.

Hope that helps.

Have a good one.

Just finished 9 weeks and 9500 miles in our FunFinder. Ours is one of their bigger units, the 210 WBS. We wanted the walk around queen bed (neither of us the "climbing over" type) and the slide with the sofa makes a world of difference in the "living space" inside. The two of us and three cats did just fine.

FunFinder quality? Top notch as far as I'm concerned. Tow-ability? Great. We use the 10K Equal-i-zer system. We averaged ~11.2 mpg pulling with Jeep's 5.7L Hemi; That was coast to coast and back.
