There is a good Mexican cafe in San Juan, Garza's Cafe. It is a family owned busines that has been in the same spots for many years.

Sounds like everyone is having lots of fun. We should be down in 2 weeks. Looking forward to exploring the area.

37 is American Legion Post 37 in McAllen. Address: 1305 E Jasmine Ave. Good crowd last evening. Fun place, and they serve food on Friday evenings before the dances.

12 String Tim & Sharon

These guys put on a really good high energy show, it is a combination of music, dance & comedy. They already have quite a full schedule and most places it is free, no cover charge. (I am sure the venues wouldn't mind if you bought a few drinks.) any how I will post a link to their schedule, let us know what you think of the show if you go.
We have gone several times in past years and had a BLAST!!!

Just got back from Progreso, Mexico. Showing off my bright new smile. It seemed like a slow day there today but the deals were good. Arriba's Margarita's had great food but no music when we got there. Season's just getting started.

Just a little heads up regarding the flea market / Produce place directly (south) across business 83 from the Don Wes flea market.

At the very south end of the building there is a vendor who sells Red Hat merchandise along with sparkly hats and a bunch of other items. He also sells what is labeled as Egyptian Cotton 600 or 800 count sets of sheets for $20.00.

Please open the package and actually inspect the sheets before purchasing. The ones we bought were a very rough polyester. not what the package label implied. The tags on the sheet even said what they were made of.

We got our money back but luckily we stay very close to Don Wes so it was not a problem to return them. A definite case of "Buyer Beware".

Yes, I know if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

This man is also a Winter Texan which is very disappointing. He said the sheets did not look like the ones he sold. My husband showed him the business card which he had given us the day before. He then returned the money.
