We take ours to track and cross-country meets. Better than the concession stand food, long lines at portapotties, etc. Gives our son a place to change clothes, stay warm (or cool), and he can bring more gear so is prepared for any weather.

Never heard tell of "tailgating" at high school games. Most of the games around here are so poorly attended it is a wonder they can pay the light bill. In fact, they are now starting an hour earlier so they don't have to run the lights so much.

we have taken ours to cross country meets, track meets and Junior all american football games - some of the games were 100 miles away and we would go overnight.

It is sooooo nice to have your own bathroom and food right there - especially for track meets that are 12-15 hours long. My oldest is a distance runner. His races used to be the first of the day 8 am (so we had to be there at 6 am for warmup) and the last race of the day - sometimes 8 pm (then there was a cool down run - so we didn't leave for at least an hour after his race). Many times we set up the grill and fed the team lunch and I would have a big pot of spaghetti for after the races. We were the team "parents".

He has now moved on to college, so we will see if we will need the moho then, but I usually like to take it anyway as I don't like sitting in the stands all day long.

Youngest is playing freshmen football, so I don't see a need for taking it to his games as they are all local.

I took the motor home to a high school football game on Friday and a middle school game Saturday. Very nice to go in and chill out during halftime.

I am getting better at preparing each time out.

I'm not sure if we'd actually tailgate at a high school event. We wrestle in our family. That's all day, breakfast, lunch & usually dinner & it gets expensive if the whole family is there so tailgating would be great. However a lot of these high school programs depend on concessions to bring in money for the extras that the schools can't or won't cover such as trophies, jersey's, tournaments. We try to keep that in mind in packing maybe just lunch & grab breakfast there or vice versa. These are high schoolers and like another poster said, they don't get the turnout these colleges & national sporting events get so i'm a little more inclined to not tailgate here.

I'm sure the argument could be made either way, this is JMO.

We tailgated after our SIL's first game as head coach of his high school soccer team. He now is head coach of both the boys' and girls' teams at the school where he played and where he earned a college scholarship for soccer.

No high school games, but the last time we went to a Packer game we arrived hours before the game started. It was wonderful weather, and a great time was had by all, but David and I both kept saying how convenient it would be to bring the RV next time around. My pet peeve: using the portable potties early is ok, but once the crowd gets drinking, well, the aiming at the target gets worse and worse and I'd rather use my own bathroom!
