Hello. I hope you guys can help me out. I installed a programmable Hunter thermostat (Model 44155C) in a Forest River fifth wheel with a Duo-Therm AC unit. When I turn on the AC it works correctly for about 2-3 minutes, but then it shuts off and flashes ERR on the thermostat display. As far as I can tell, the furnace functions normally.
Here is how I have it wired:
Green to RC and RH
Orange to G for low fan (I will install hi/low fan switch later)
Yellow to Y
White to W
Blue--Not used for now
Red--Not used
Thank you.

Sounds about right... In that the Hunter stat is nothing more than a glorified temperature controlled relay switching center and there is no intelligent communication with your AC or Furnace, I'd guess at a bad thermostat...
Double check your switch settings and make sure that the system selector switch is set to std (standard) and not HP (heat pump... Also double check your program settings and make sure they're not goofing you up... I could find no documentation regarding the err condition that you have experienced and that model is not listed on the Hunter site anymore...

Taken from the Hunter 44155C instruction sheet:
If the thermostat is unable to control your system due to an unexpected battery problem, the thermostat will enter Error Mode. In this condition, the thermostat flashes “Err” on the LCD display, and shuts off your system. To correct this problem, replace the batteries with 2 new AA alkaline batteries, even if you have recently replaced them. Next, use a paper clip to press the RESET button next to the keypad. You will need to reprogram your thermostat and confirm normal operation. If Error Mode returns, please call Hunter Technical support at 1-888-830-1326 for further information.

I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you.

since the OP answered his own question I guess it's OK to hijack his thread
I installed one of these today thermostat and it was WAY too easy. For whatever reason I have a seperate thermostat for the A/C and the heater. Although this thermostat will control both I only needed the heater part. I only had to hook up two wires and didn't even have to move the jumper! Took longer to get the tools out than the install did. Anyways, it works great and only set me back $20. Next to the electric tongue jack this was the best mod to date.

I labeled my wires before I pulled they out of the old thermostat as colors are not important -- function is.

You should be able to see most of the labels.

popeye - thanks for that... The instruction sheet I found on the Internet wasn't that detailed... Seems to be pointing to batteries according to the instruction sheet... Like I said, a stat problem as there is no "intelligent" communication with the devices being controlled... Hope that fixes his problem...

Can someone tell me if the Hunter 42999B also supports Celsius. I want to change the thermostat in my new Roo to this and want to ensure it will show temperatures in Celsius. No offense to my American friends but 70 degrees means nothing to me LOL
If someone could check I would really appreciate it.

Well, I went ahead and replaced the batteries with brand new Duracells. I'm still getting the ERR message. I've tried it in heating mode and in cooling mode and it does the same thing in both modes. Both the heat and AC seem to work correctly, but after about 1-2 minutes it shuts off and flashes ERR on the display. Pressing the reset button does reset it, but then it just does the same thing again. I checked the switch in the back and it is in STD mode. At this point I think I just have a bad thermostat. I'm taking it back to Wal-Mart to exchange it for another one.
Thanks for your suggestions.
