Awwwww, what kind of dog is she? What size? It is amazing how their instincts kick in, even with a young mom and a first litter. Are you currently in Mexico? Could the pups on the porch be endangered by coyotes or other predators? The smell of a recent birth is detectable for miles around by wild critters. Even a hawk could grab them. Thank you for taking care of this poor lady and her babies and keep us posted. Newborn pups provide hours and hours of fun to watch as they grow and develop.

Mother and pups are doing well. She refused using a box even though they were big boxes. So I had to change the towel a couple of times as there was a little afterbirth. I have an appointment for bath and haircut tomorrow morning, first in first out. Groomer says she will be away from her pups for about an hour and a half.

What breed do you think she is?

She looks like she could be a golden retriever mixed with a little shepard. She is a pretty mom and the pups are cute as well. I would be very careful in taking her away from the pups to soon as she may not want them back near her again. If she's a first time Mom I really wouldnt worry about the way she looks right now but more about the way she reacts to her babies. She can always have a bath once the pups are a little older and she's more use to them and for that matter you being around her and them. She looks like she would run if she had the chance out or sheer terror so please be extra careful with her.

How big is she?? She looks like a Great Pyrenees mix?? But they're huge dogs, similar to a Newfoundland....

Back from the vet. Everyone is clean and happy. The vet says she is a Pyrenees mix.

And I don't know what's up with these two but since the pups arrived they just hang around with me. They used to play with the dog and play outside. What a life!
