We're camped here at Ochlockonee River State Park in the Florida panhandle.

We got to talking to the camp host. He was telling us a story about a camp host he knew that refused to hook up his class A to a sewer. Another new host at this park chose a non sewer site over a sewer site.

We thought that was odd. Does the guy think he'll get germs if he hooks up to a sewer? Of course he would have to dump his tanks eventually. Just wondering...

By the way, if any of you are interested in seeing white squirrels, this is the place to do it.

No reason I can think of to not hook up. Full hook up is just a dump station on your site. Your choice when you dump without moving. To each there own.

Oh, I'm sure there's enough quirky people that can come up with a number of reasons to not hook up. Like, what would happen if someone dumped gasoline down their serwer and then flushed a lit cigarette, your rig could explode if connected.

Think it's a mis-understanding. The owner that refused or claims he refused probably meant that he would not connect and leave his tank open due to the possable smell issues. We know that this is of course not the correct way to use this but some think it is.

Possibly the same sort of reason that some people won't do #2 in their RV toilet. Personally, I think both are there to use. However, if we're just going to overnight and tanks don't need emptying, I don't connect to sewer.

I know of people who have three kids and go camping in a TT. They have never used the washroom ever. They always use the CG facilities. Wow!

I know of a couple of people that don't hook up to the sewer until they are ready to dump. Then they unhook until the next time.

Heck, I hook up when I get there and unhook right before I leave. The less times I handle that stuff, the happier I am.
