Andy78, I have the Jayco G2 23FB and my tongue weight loaded is a bit over 800 lbs. I am carrying two 6 volt golf cart batteries so that adds a lot to the weight. I also have 30 lb propane tanks and don't know what your model comes with in that regard.
I would think you would need 600 lb WD bars and you should be fine. You might load it up and see what the tongue weight is prior to purchasing the hitch. I have one of the Sherline tongue scales so I weight mine not and then.
The price sounds about right i believe. I purchased mine when the market was poor and did a bit better than that but I'm sure the RV market sales are somewhat better now. We are very happy with our G2 and hope you will be also.
PM me if you need more info.
Hope all works out for you

i towed a 3500 lb. (empty weight) tt with a toyota and had no issues with it. you didn't say what it was, mine was 4x4 and V6, both make a little difference. the 4x4 has a little stiffer suspention and V6 more power of course. you should be OK long as you're under the tow cap.

Andy,
Welcome to the Forum.
The trailer you are buying has a 6000 lb. GVWR so I think you should be OK with you Toyota.

My advice is to pack light both in the trailer and in the bed of your truck. I'd travel as dry as possible in regards to the holding tanks.

The trailer is somewhat over 26 feet so I would consider either the Equil-i-zer or Reese Dual Cam hitch system...bars in the 600-800 lb. range.

Good luck and Congrats on your new adventure.

Probably you'll be just fine you WON'T ever see either the 4100 lb. (doesn't include optional equipment or expendables) or the 400 lb. tongue weight (that's empty weight and fully loaded it'll be a lot more.
Good luck /Skip

dodgebob its a 4x4 v6 offroad package
1mtnman it comes with dual 30 lbs tanks so im sure that will add to tongue weight. Im just hoping my truck aint gonna struggle with this tt with a little bit of loading.. Well def pack as light as possible as well. And for sure on the reese dual cam hitch and brake controller, even tho there charging me $900 for both installed..

You're hitch rating of 650 lbs will be to low to accomidate the heavier weight of the 22FB. You can try to upgrade the receiver hitch, then after using the weight distributing hitch, make sure you're not overloading your front axle. The front axle rating could be why the hitch rating is limited to 650 lbs.

With travel trailers, it's not usually the actual trailer weight that limits what tow vehicles can be used, but the heavier hitch weight which is usually between 13% and 14%, but can go higher after all is loaded.

I considered the 22FB. The 19BH, 22FB, and 26Bh all have the same kitchen, sofa floorplan, with the only differences between the permanent bed placements. The 19Bh and 26Bh have a 71" sofa that is long enough to be used as a double bed. Unfortunately the 22FB has a short 60" sofa that can't be used as a bed for adults. That is one of the reasons I had to drop it from consideration. Besides the 19Bh offered a single upper bunkbed that that the 22FB did not offer.

The 22FB would had been at the limits of my 730 lbs rated hitch judging by trailer weight and normal percentage that's transfered to the hitch weight.

Even my 19BH could have a hitch weight of 840 lbs if loaded to it's GVWR and if I load a lot of weight up front.

I actually keep my heaviest gear in the rear and don't load the TT that much, to keep my TT lighter. One of these days I plan on buying a hitch weigh scale for $99. That way I can know my hitch weight without causing a riot at the scales by disconnecting the trailer there.

My light loading, with water weight, should put my 19BH around at know heavier than 685 lbs., which would still exceed your Tacoma's receiver hitch rating.

The Amerilite TT models are lighter as they are only 7.5' wide and offer a lighter weight elsewhere. They are not laminated wall built trailers, so that is a plus, as they use aluminum siding with stick and tin build where wall, roof, floor, delamination won't be a worry.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

Have a good one.

That is not the MSRP, they aren't being up front with you. The MSRP for a fully loaded trailer with all options, including the upgrade 15KBTU air conditioner is $17,814.00.

A good price is about 66% to 70% of MSRP plus delivery (in midwest, shouldn't be more than $1000). You should not be charged a prep fee at all.

For a "FULLY OPTIONED" trailer, that's about $1000 higher than I would expect, but still a good price, when considering they are charging a "$1000 delivery charge".

Have a good one.

I have this unit, it's an '09. It was $12,900 out the door including everything but tax and registration. I pull it with a 2007 1/2 ton Chevy with a 5.3 All I can say it that I fail to share the optimism some feel about how easy a Tacoma will pull this thing. You are talking about a trailer that is fairly tall, (I love the head room) will easily weigh 2-1/2 tons (lightly loaded) and is over 26' long. That, IMHO is on heck of a lot to ask out of a mid-sized Toyota, no matter how great the number's look on paper. I have my foot BURIED in the throttle to keep this thing in the 62-65 MPH range, and I know it's back there ever moment. BTW, I have pulled several trailers well over 100K miles in the last ten years, so I'm far from a greenhorn. YMMV, but I doubt you are going to have a satisfying, relaxing experience towing this combo. Great trailer BTW, ours is (so far) the best of several brands we have owned. In this case, I would demand a "test tow" before buying a trailer this size.

thanks for the replies. Im actually getting a 2010 23fb instead of 22fb. Which means alittle more weight(about 400lbs) and some upgrades. This now makes me more nervous because of the comments about my truck struggling with this tt, and white nuckling it. Im hopin its not too bad of a tow.
Soren.. i asked for a test tow but they said it would take too long to hook up brake control and weight dist. hitch. They also said my truck should have NO problem with towing it cause its rated at 6500lbs. BS dealer talk lol. So well have to see if this is gonna work..
