Howdy; I'm in need of the ride specifications for the Spartan IC2242 chassis that is under my 1997 American Tradition!! Actually Mountain Master and other Sparatn intermediate series chassis will work.
I've gotten very little help from Spartan to acquire a chassis manual or get the specs. ( The Parts Dept guy switched me to Service Dept when I originally asked about the OEM Ridewell HCVes (which are out of production since 2002 and out of stock by 2004) and the chassis manual. The Service guy told me they don't use that model HCV any longer and gave me back to Parts dept. The Parts dept then told me that the production line uses a Ridewell "universal" HCV. So no help there.)
Ridewell gave me the same information concerning the "universal " replacement HCV. So no help there either.
I have replaced all the OEM Ridewell HCVes, dump valves, PPV, plumbing now I need the ride height specifications. I believe that spec is from the shock tower bolt centerline to the bottom shock retaner bolt centerline or it is from the bottom of the double frame to the bottom of the air spring bag mount.
Anyone have that information? Thanks, dave

I could give you mine too, but we have a non-standard front axle so they'd be of no use to you.

Thanks for the reply. Spartan chassis has Mountain Master, MM 2242, and other intermediate series chassis(such as the IC, IC 2242,K2 , K2 2242, ect)which are basicly the same. Spartan also have chassis like the EXP-2001 & Alpine with less GVWR .
At this point I need somewhere to start, so if you have the point to point dimensions for solid axle Mountain Master , I would appreciate the help. thanks

After a week of searching thru all the resources I know to conclude what the actual ride height dimensions of my 1997 Spartan IC 2242 chassis are has come to not.
I have collected several Spartan chassis ride height dimensions of various years and chassis models ( including a IFS) from folks that were very kind to reply, but no two have the same dimensions or have dissimilar point to point locations.
example: some say shock mount centerlines, some say top of the spring bag to top( or centerline )of axles, some have top ( or centerline) of axle to bottom of frame. One friend measured the OEM HCVes linkage length.
Since I have replaced all three OEM Ridewell HCV with the newer Ridewell Extreme-Air HCV which mounts different ( horizonal and not vertical) any HCV dimensions are worthless
If any of you good folks can think of another avenue or point me in another direction to obtain the service manual or get verification from another IC 2242 chassis , I would appreciate it muchly.

There must be a formula for figuring this out....have you tried to get hold of an engineer at Spartan?....or press your way up the chain of command and see if you can't peak someones curiosity?

What does Spartan say?
And ride height valve mounting, brand or model is not relevant.
They only take the "input" from the rod and translate that to ride height. The ride height is normally from some point on the chassis to some point on the axle or ground.
