Nolan, I'm getting prep'ed to mount a Rampage Lift on the bed of my Volvo 610, for carrying my Harley. How much space do you have from the back of your rear box to the hitch pin?

From the motorcycle box to the pin is about 5 ft.

Yeah we fear mountains We hear stories about RVs who were scared going over some mountain pass or that it was their toughest pull. We go over one of those mountain passes and it's like, "Yeah so what? No big deal."

To first answer the OP - one reason I have a TC is to tow a cargo trailer with bikes and gear ... that's always been the best option it seems.
ALSO:
Pretty slick rig DesertHawk -- but it makes me wonder if "two trailer" laws exist anywhere. I seem to remember that even eighteen-wheelers in some states can only haul one trailer, altho I also seem to actually remember three in some states out in the west - can't recall exactly where.
But, "Q" is that camper trailer, then bike trailer legal in all states?

To the OP. With a motorhome you need some type of extra transportation besides a cycle so the van appears to be a good solution for you.
If the doubble tow is legal where you go then go for it. Most states do require that the front trailer is a fifth wheel but not all. Only 19 states are still living in the dark ages and do not allow the doubble tow. The DC is one of the 19.

In Cali you can only double tow with a 5er. We had one, but like the moho better, and yes the van will work out great for our needs. Its a classic, a hotrod, light, and bit odd like the owners!!lol
