I stay in perfect shape when camping .... Round! Sitting 'round the campfire. Sitting 'round the television. Sitting 'round the lake or river fishing. Sitting 'round the dinner table. Sitting 'round while driving!... well, you get the idea!

So, you see, I have the perfect exercise plan! I'm a perfect "round". Can't get any better than that! So, why try to improve on perfection!

Humorous responses aside, keeping fit is a good way to allow yourself to be an RVer longer. We walk 1 hour every morning before breakfast. If it's possible, we walk for errands. I also fix almost all of our meals in the MH. If you watch your portion sizes you eat less and therefore spend less $$ on groceries. I am also a lifetime Weight Watcher and I attend meetings while out in our Fulltime life. I do not want the fulltime lifestyle to destroy our goals for physical fitness and healthy eating. That is also why I started a second blog regarding healthy living It is: my healthy living thru weight control

We want to do all we can to prolong this RV life that we love so much.

Recumbent bicycling: there are many designs of recumbent bikes and they're comfortable, allowing long rides at comfortable paces. Yes, there are fast models available also *grin*. There are also trikes (delta and tadpole) which have advantages. I have a trike (hills no problem) and a short wheel base 'mid-racer', and my wife rides a comfortable long wheel base that happens to be quite quick, also. We're in our mid-fifties, and ride more now than we did 30 years agao - and longer distances, also.

Drawback? They can be pricey. Used, figure at least 600 - 800, and new figure 1000 to 2000. USD.

Healthwise, though, best investment for the money we ever made. I was 215 lbs and now weigh 182.

To get an idea, here's a local bike shop website:

www.fairfieldcyclery.com

And here's a large forum dedicated to recumbent bikes:

www.bentrideronline.com

Check out the forums above for information.

We try to walk/hike whenever its possible, take walks in the evening, and always try to walk when we play golf.

I get more exercise while RVing then I do at home. I walk the Collies a couple of times a day and we go for long walks.

This is mainly for Florida Snowbirds or Sunbirds for that matter.

Have you considered a membership to Gold's Gym? There seems to be one in every locale in Florida.

If I knew that I could by a membership good for any Gold's, I strongly think about doing so.
