I just purchased a brand new 2010 Raptor 361LEV and took delivery last Friday. It has a Dimplex BF8000ST electric fireplace. I am currently working with the dealer on some Fireplace issues. There are two issues. One the Fireplace heater will not stay on for more than about 3 minutes. The other issue is that this fireplace is supposed to have a remote control, but the dealer could not find one. I called Keystone and they told me it did, however, the dealer is on the fence about if the fireplace supposed to have a remote control or not. This is really beginnig to get on my nerves because the dealer can't seem to get anyone at Keystone to verify this. From my point of view if the brochures and Keystone's website indicated that it is supposed to come with a fireplace remote, then it really should.
Has anyone else had any problems with their electric fireplace like these?

If Keystone told "you" it comes with a remote there should be no more questions. Did you get the name of the person you spoke with? The bigger concern is the fact that the fireplace isn't working.

Their website isn't very helpful. Seems like the Remote would be pretty much standard issue, do you have an owners manual does it say anything? Sounds like the dealer is playing some games, press the issue with them.

Yes, Keystone says that it comes with a remote control. The dealer also says that their parts list includes a remote control. In my own research I found out that the model of Fireplace I have does not contain a remote control. Then that got me to wondering if Keystone has a seperate remote control that simply turns off and on the wall socket to the fireplace.
I have come to ONE conclusion about the RV industry in general and that is before the sale, they have all the answers. After the sale no one knows nothing!

The owners manual does not have any information about a remote control. But Keysone's Raptor web site has a Fireplace remote in the pictures and even says it has a remote. The dealer is definitely playing dumb right now and I don't like it. I am going to give them the benifit of the doubt, and if they don't come through I will expose them. I had a similar issues with another dealer about 5 years ago. I swore I'd never buy from them again. But here we go again with an entirely different dealer. The automobile industry, in my opinion is not this bad.

the manufacturer's brochure no doubt sez someplace, "all specs. subject to change", or some type of weasel wording.

I am somewhat regreting hooking up to the Raptor and pulling it off the lot. Becuase once you do that, the customer service comes to a complete STOP!

If the only problem you have with your new RV is they didn't give you a remote control then consider yourself lucky...
Forget the remote control...more importantly is getting the fireplace to work correctly (you have tried to adjust the temperature control...correct?)

I have taken the thing out of the hole and turned it on sitting in the middle of the floor when it was 48 degrees. It still turns off by itself after about 3 minutes.
