During a recent 2 week trip on the last day of our vacation I started to detect a slight odor of Propane in the MH. Upon further investigation I noticed the propane tank was almost empty. I turned the valve off that evening and the next day had the tank filled. No more odor. Question #1 is: Why would you start to smell the odor of propane when the tank is 85% empty. I put 13.1 Gals. in a 16.5 tank.

Your smelling the odorant, not the propane. The smell is normal, because the odorant is heavier than the propane, and settles to the bottom of the tank.
