In the past year, two (2) of our loving companions have died at the ages of 17 and 15.
We have a cat approximately two (2) yrs of age that I would like to start traveling with us for a short weekend and/or long adventure.
This past month we took her for a long weekend outing to Huntington Island,SC she stayed behind the couch for 1 and 1/2 days. Knowing this was all new to her, tried my best to make her comfortable with toys and blanket from home.
She is an inside only cat, never had any problems with her getting sick while traveling in a vehicle.
Would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on how to assist in making her feel more comfortable while riding to or distination and once we arrive. Learned for our first adventure, that leaving the A.C. on was easier on her than the first day when I left windows open in the Motorhome to enjoy ocean breeze wasn't as enjoyable for the cat.
Requesting for any suggestion on best place for litterbox and feeding bowls also.

We took our two indoor 4 year old cats that has never been in the camper or truck other than going to the vet with us this past year on a trip to Mount Rushmore and the badlands and on the trip out they hid under the back seat of the truck when traveling and when we stopped one would hide in the bathroom and the other under the bedspread on the bed, but after a few days of traveling and camping they would ride on the back and front seat in the truck and even look out the windows. They also adjusted to the camper where they would sit and look out the windows. It just going to take time for your cat to adjust we use treats (pounce) to get our cats to relax. Make sure anytime you take your cat outside you have a harness and leash on him, ours were spooked a couple of times moving from truck to camper and if not for the harness and leash they would have got loose. We have a very large bathroom in our camper and our litter box is there.

I travel w/13 yr old cat, who is an indoor only cat. Like others, his only travel experience was to the vet, not good!! I am a fulltimer, so I needed to get Lucky comfortable with the mh. The first thing I did; park the mh at home-let the cat sniff and get used to it, while I sat in the mh. He also stayed under the sofa, especially when in transit, but as he has adjusted (and he is totally at home now in the rv) he now rides in the rocker/recliner and sleeps. He loves the front dash and windshield view once we have arrived in our new "neighborhood". Don't give up!!!!
I have a small space between the toilet and shower where I put the litter pan. It is the smallest litter pan I could find, but my 15lb Lucky makes do. And, I clean it out 1-2x's a day.
