No, that wasn't my original question. In case you have SRD (selective reading disorder), the original question was:

"How safe is it to keep dogs alone in a popup? I'm speaking in terms of them staying in, and unwanted folks staying out?"

I asked nothing about "Can I...", nor did I ask about CG rules or dog poop. You obviously have an agenda to push which has nothing to do with my question.

But thanks again to the folks who replied with useful info.

we use a folding crate. We also made an emer. # sign with our cell ph. number on it and that there are pets inside. Please call for any reason. We walk them before we leave then turn a tv or radio on. No problems to date. You leave them at home don't you. Good luck

I would recommend a crate that can be put on the floor. The ONLY time we have heard a barking dog was in a tent trailer parked next to us with a loose dog in it. The dog would park itself on the beds and bark out the windows. I think if it had been on the floor in the crate it would have felt more secure.

p.s. In approx 300 nights of camping we've never been in a campground that doesn't allow pets left alone inside, and I've only seen poop not picked up twice - one at a dog show with 500+ dogs. Maybe we Canadians are just neater

Good grief............ I don't care how many say they "don't do it" everyone does, as I said earlier, get a crate and make sure your pup is safe from getting out, run a fan and a radio, and enjoy your self.

Does what exactly?

guess I should have gave a little more info.

Leave the dog or cat in the camper while gone.

I camp in a MH with my 2nd Husky. I leave her in the MH in her crate,as I did with husky #1, and leave the TV on for white noise. I would not leave any dog in a pop up without have it in a crate. To easy to chew a hole and escape. Just my 2cent. Take the little one camping and have a good time.
