I need to replace the tenting on the front end of my 2002 Shamrock due to a leak and now a massive amount of mold. At this point, the only solution is replacement. Where would I find new tenting and how difficult would it be on a scale of 10 to replace.

Thanx....

Could be as simple as a telephone call (and a credit card) to whoever made the tentage. Not sure who made yours but my '06 Roo tentage was made by TJ Snuggles and there's information on the tentage tag plus they have an internet presence.

There is also a company called Bear Creek Canvas that alot of the pop-up folks use for replacement canvas.

Ditto on T J Snuggles on our ROO. I'd start with a phone call to them.

We had a 3' tree branch go spearwise through the front bunk end top a few weeks ago at camp. Insurance called the dealer we purchased from plus 2 others. The amount was $380 plus tax and shipping for the bunkend (complete, not just the top) They said 2 hours of labor (labor rate being 95 per hour) They also gave us $25 to replace the sportsman quilted blanket solar cover on it. We could pick any service we wanted and since it's here in AL the tax was higher and Progressive worked that extra out with the service guy. He got the numbers off our canvas and called TJSnuggles to be positive it was the right color and such. It took about 2-1/2 weeks to get to him.
As it happens we are going at noon today to take it to Jerry's in Tuscumbia for that work plus the electrical issue hit and having the bunkend seal kits put on (sent to us free from FR without request) for 50 per hour labor.

I think you'd do better resale time if you get OEM replacement, and calling TJSnuggles with your tag info would be fast. As for labor and how hard, TJSnuggles/Forest River say that part is pretty quick and easy. It's the seal kit replacement that takes so much labor.

Like I said it was $380 for a new bunkend (one) of OEM for a 2009 Roo 23SS (queen size) plus tax (sorry, shipping was included in that I just saw) so I would think your shamrocks would be similar priced which is probably less than Bear Creak, I had gotten bear creek pop up end pricing for a friend about 6 years ago and was 700 plus tx and ship back then for 2 bunkends on his coleman/fleet.

I can let you know the do it yourself ease from the dealer after we go there in about an hour.

Call any Shamrock or Forest River dealer's service /parts department and they will give you a quote which doesn't bind you by the way. And maybe give you a good deal on labor given it's getting to be later in the year

Unfortunately, I was told by Forest River that 2002 is too old and that they don't hold on to them for that blong and they sent me to Canvas Replacements. One of the problems is that since I am in Canada and I have to now remove the tenting and send it somewhere in Winsconsin. If anything happens, I'm out of luck. Also, I have to pay shipping, brokerage fees and a bunch of taxes. This could get quite expnsive by the end of it. Suggestions ? By the way, Beaver Creek was less expensive than Canvas Replacements and they are pretty much down the road from each other.

Where did you find QUILTED solar covers?

Being a winter camper, I would love to get some of these.

I doubt Forest River made the tentage. Did you find a tag? Did you try TJ Snuggles?

Replacing the tentage with non-OEM tentage will seldom be satisfactory. Some places use actual cotton canvas, not the materials on your camper. And they seem to rarely match what's there in the first place leaving you with two different tent ends. I'm unimpressed with Bear Creek replacement tentage. Seems to be functional. Looks like replacement tentage.

There are plenty of folks with Roo/Shamrock campers. Get with one and compare yours to theirs. Any changes the past few years must be very subtle as I can detect any, but I'm not using a tape measure either.

Someone I met who has a ’04 (?) Shamrock and had some tenting issues. He contacted the manufacturer who made the tenting back then. I believe Forrest River gave this contact info to him.

Thank-you Leaf-Peeper. My investigation took me down the same road. I just left a message for Becky 5 minutes before I read your response. Hopefully this will help me out.

By the way, is there place to get used tenting like at an RV Scrapyard or something ?

Thanx....
