We have stayed at Cave City, KY. Singing Hills RV Park a couple of times. Most times it is far enough south to get the water system up and running. Nice small park. It is a Passport America park. Which makes the overnight stay less than $15 for 50 amp hookup.

Singing Hills is at exit #53 off I-65 and is a very good ride for that first day...if you leave at night you will never make it that far...

I can suggest a Walmart at exit #44 off I-71, a Cracker Barrel at exit #93 off I-65 with the nice big parking lot and depending on how far you make it there is the Tennessee welcome center just over the border (have stayed there before)...also a Camping World at exit #28 I believe

We have stayed at Oak Creek RV Park, right at I-75 and I-71. It's an older park, with a lot of year-round residents, but fine for an overnighter. Or, you can try Butler State Park, about 25 miles west of I-75 and right off I-71. If you can make it to Shepherdsville, just south of Louisville, check out Grandmas which has large pull-thru sites. Finally, if you make it as far as Elizabethtown off I-65, you can try the Glendale RV Park in Glendale. You should be able to get more information on each from rvparkreviews.com, including websites, phone numbers, and maps. Enjoy your first snowbird experience!

A good resource for such questions is the Trailer Life Directory (or similar publication). Since you are only looking for an overnight it is better to choose a campground near where you would like to stop, mileage-wise, than to get recommendations that are not necessarily convenient.

We overnighted at Horse Cave KOA last summer from OH to AL. It was easy on/off in a pull through site. Fuel and Food was available at the Exit, too.

It looks like it's a bit west of where you are heading but the Bowling Green KOA is a stop we make each year on the way south.
