I went camping last weekend. When it came to setting the awning up I unziped the bag that holds it. I then untied the strings that hold the awning up in the bag.All of those strings are all dry rotted and just flaked apart. I now have to rool up the awning and hold it with one hand and zip it up with the other. My popup is a 2007 Flagstaff. It seems to new for this to happen. I only camp about 20 days a year. Any ideas how to fix this problem. Thanks Rick

Sew new straps into the bag. Use the heavy duty stuff sold at the dealer. I'm thinking of changing over to velcro. I have a heck of a time untying them.

Sounds like your bag is leaking and allowing water to enter. Since you don't use the RV often it drys in the bag and rots. Either remove the awning from the RV when it's being stored, or take out the awning after it rains and dry it out of put a water proof cover of the awning while it's in storage.

The one Cheesy thing about my Jayco is the awning. Difficult to set up & take down. I find it easier to set up a screen house that is far superior to any awning. Keeps out the bugs, sun & still allows a great breeze.
