As I read through the posts regarding the camping world insurance, if any of you have a specific problem that you need resolved email me directly at Mlemonis@campingworldrv.com

I will personally get our insurance team on it and have it resolved. If you have wrongly been charged fees, we will get it right.

Who thinks having to read fine print is fair?? I don't.

Recently it was announced that GMAC insurance was bought by AMTRUST financial. I had a call with the senior management last week and feel great about what good things are in store in the future. They acknowledged the problems from the past and have assured me that both pricing and service will be better in the very near future.

Im sure both all of you and I will hold them to that.

Hi All.

If for no other reason, I wouldn't re-new anything at all with Affinity as a whole right now. They are in some very real deep serious money issues. Why would I want to re-new anything with them when there is a good chance that they might no be around much longer ? This info has been on other Forums, and on the internet. Have all of you noticed that all of thier re-newals are being sent out very early this year ? They are trying anyway that they can to raise some Capital. Good Luck. Happy Camping. Dan & Jill

Go back and look at the original contract you signed with them. If a "cancellation fee" is mentioned, you're out of luck. If not, I'd call back and demand a full refund of non-earned premiums.

Take all the mail you get from them in the future and place it in their self addressed, no postage required envelope and send it back to them.

I checked my policy (Not GS) and there is no such fee. I've always seen my insurance as a pay as you go kind of thing? I have changed here and there and got a full refund for unused insurance. Funny, I have never "signed" an auto insurance policy?

Though "fine print' is an annoyance, so would having reams of large print contracts every time you signed any contract. In this case, the customer signed up for a contract for insurance of a certain period of time. (usually 6 months or a year in insurance contracts) By terminating early, they shortened the contract period. I do not know of very many situations where a shorter contract calls for lower prices than a longer contract. Rents for long term leases are lower than short term leases. You often get a break for committing to staying in an RV site for a week instead of three days. You usually get an even bigger break if you stay for a month. I just rented a car for nine days the weekly rate was less than the daily rate. If I return the car after only three days, the daily rental rate will apply instead of the weekly rate. I don't consider that unfair. If the insurance companies didn't have cancel fees, customers could take advantage of the company and sign up for yearly contracts knowing full well they were going to cancel after a few days, in essence getting daily rate insurance at yearly prices. If they didn't recover the costs of a cancellation from the cancelling customer, they would have to pass those costs on to all their other customers, hardly fair.

If you cancel a policy, most insurance companies charge a short rate which results in an added cost.

Just let the insurance expire at the designated date and renew effective with another company that would begin when your current policy expires. Be sure to tell the old company not to renew the policy. There would not be a renewal fee or a short rate for cancelling early.

I would contact your state insurance commission and file a complaint and ask them to "look into" it. Insurance companies do not like to get on the wrong side of any state insurance commission!
