Last April I added a grease zerk to the receiver on my travel trailer. The purpose was to facilitate keeping the hitch ball under the Hensley Arrow greased with as little fanfare and hassle while traveling. Despite the warnings of loss of warranty on the trailer frame and cracking on the receiver, I am happy to report that after 5,000 miles this summer and fall, all items are functioning as prescribed.

No cracks have appeared on the receiver ~ though I am vigilant. So just before I put the trailer in storage until Christmas Break, I cleaned off the receiver and snapped this photo.

If it uses a standard 2&5/16" ball there should be no cracking as the top of the ball will be flat and not contact this area. Besides if a 1/4" pipe tap hole weakens the coupler it was junk in the first place!
