Hello all!

I am just starting to explore the possibility of workkamping. I've got a 3-4 month window to fill (Nov 2010-Feb. 2011), a truck camper, and lots of kitchen experience in addition to being a professional teacher. Any ideas? Suggestions? Possibilities?

Thanks!

Mike

There are lots of possibilities. Tell us where you would like to be and maybe we can help narrow it down.

You might try amazon.com. They will be hiring for the Christmas rush.

Good question! Should have mentioned that. Place is of little importance to me, as long as it's not too cold (the camper is not winter-worthy). I'll be traveling for much of 2010, so I can get anywhere . . .SoCal, Texas, Florida. Willing to do a ski resort if I can get accommodation.

As far as I know, they're still looking for both Work Campers and Paid employees at Treasure Lake Resort in Branson, MO. Position would be Security. Winters don't get terribly cold. Check with them, or PM me if interested. DH is workcamping there now.

The California State Parks post work camping opportunities on their web site. I volunteer at the Cuyamaca State Park near San Diego (I do interpretive hikes not work camp) and can tell you that many State Parks are good to work camp at. Certainly true at Cuyamaca.

I think that you are starting to look a bit early to find much as most places do not book any more than a year ahead, at the most.
