I understand that the US Census calls us FTers "The Affluent Homeless." Even the Fed could figure that one out.

Do not subscribe.

Can't argue with that logic. Now explain the DIFFERENCE between the more TRADITIONAL fill timer who lives full time in their RV and a homeless person. Is it something MORE than the cost of the vehicle they live in?

I live and travel in my Motor Home and that does not make me a Homeless Person
I do not live under a bridge and beg for money on a street corner.
I pay my way through life and have for 74 years years'
Pay a lot of taxes for sure.
So don't call me Homeless..

It's not my intent to drill into a NERVE of anyone (though apparently I did in your case) or to insult anyone (though that apparently isn't YOUR goal) Mine was to stimulate an interesting conversation just like the OP did with HIS assessment. ALL of the things you mention, with the possible exception of paying large taxes can be said of some homeless people.

"6) My RV is constantly on my mind 24x7. Even at work. I live for my RV and the opportunity to sleep in it, use it, go somewhere in it. I spend a considerable amount of my income on my RV. I have photos of it on my wall at work, and even in my billfold .... funny, I don't have any pictures of my own kids in my billfold"

Ahhh not a real full timer yet, BUT the statement above is where most most full timers were at some point and counting the years, months whatever.

Then ultimately you can join the folks descibed by skipnchar as a real homeless person living in a box on wheels. A term I often use jokingly with folks.

I think you have the definite strong beginnings of tthe disease.

I live in my motorhome, have for many years. When folks try the "homeless" thing with me, I just tell them my home is "homeless", though I am not! ;-)

Maybe that is the REAL difference between a true "Full Timer" (on the road) vs someone who still owns a stick house!

Wonderful definition! Definitely the best I heard yet! No, I'm not THERE yet! Maybe I could rent both houses out? and just hit the road!

What ever happened to the part-time fulltimer? Was he successful?
It sounded like a good concept.

So , lets see, we are NOW correcting Webster's definition of what Fulltime is? Geez, I suppose we could blame Nancy for this too? Where o where did our educaation system fail some?

It's realty simple. There are a dozens deflections of full-timer. Simply go down the list and pick the one that suits you best. The rest won't count. Whacky as far as Mr. Webster goes? He doesn't rule anymore ;-)
