Well I have my Directv up and "half" running in my MH. I have two legacy type lnbs on my dish portable dish for 101 and 119(my local beam) for when I am at home. I have a Directv reciever Model D12, what type of switch do I ned to make it so the the reciever will switch between sat 101 and 119? I have gone into the setup but I can not find how to set it for just two sat and to switch between them? there must be a switch that I can hook the two lnbs to then run a line into the reciever. Can anyone help me? Thanks Gary

DirecTV does not use LNB switching. If you are a standard definition subscriber you must use the 101 satellite because that is where all of the standard definition channels and the admin functions are. If your local channels are on 119 I believe that you will need to use an elliptical dish with two LNBs or use two of the round dishes.

The set up you just mentioned is for Dish Network. 110 and 119 are Dish Net satellites. Hope that helps Bill
Note: Uses a Dish 500 for the two satellites.
On Edit: This site will tell you here to point your dish. Dish Pointer

TO clearify my first post. I have an elliptical dish and using two lnb spaced out correctly for 101 & 119. One lnb is aimed at 101 the main sat for Directv and the second lnb is for 119 which will be for the local beam from 119. I need information on what tyoe of switch to use when using legacy type lnbs and how to set up Directv reciever model D12 to switch between the two sat?

When the receiver does its setup, you can select the type of dish you are using, ie round, elliptical, the two I remember. The switch is built into the LNB and it automatic. I have the standard and the locals at home and I just put in the type of dish during setup and everything came up without any other inputs. When we travel I have a round dish and usually forget to go through the dish setup and it works just fine.

You might be able to do it with a multiswitch. Call the people at this web site.

Go to "setup" and on about the second screen there are two boxes.
One is a box that should say 02 multiswitch. If it doesn't, scroll to select that setting. The receiver should then select the right satellite automatically.

Yes you will need a muti switch. Go onto directv`s website and click on forums. Lots of info on muti switches.
