Creative Labs has announced it's own version of what an E-reader should be. It also has some of the features of a tablet computer. Depending on what those features are, among other things, should make Creative a strong contender.
Creative also has strong ties to the education market. That will help it's marketing efforts.

Since I spend most of the day on a computer, the last thing I want is an E-reader. I only know three people that have one.

I spend a lot of time on a computer for work but I just started using a Kindle and there is no comparison to a computer, it is truly like reading a book. Something I had not foreseen was how it would change my reading. I had Ice Limit from the library and as part of the story line it mentioned two other books. I went to a free book site and downloaded both and started one today. These were published int he 1800's and not something I would have sought out at the library and yet thoroughly entertaining.

Bought my wife the Kindle II for her B-day...she reads a lot...then I found all the free historical books. I am reading Ben Frankins autobiography now. I am hooked. probably going to buy another one.

Actually I did the same... I've been "borrowing" it from her!

I have an e-reader, and the problem I don't like with it, is that newer books are expensive to purchase. I can get paperbacks much cheaper, either new, or at used book stores. I was really looking forward to using it, as I always pack a lot of books when we travel, and this would have made it easier.
