I am in a frustrating search for a Travel Trailer/ Camper 22" and under with sleeping for at least 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) I have come across two types of "hybrids", they are takes on pop ups but the beds are enclosed, the only canvas is around the roof. They are the Viking Northwind and the Sun-Lite series ( Discovery, and a couple others) from the 90's. These would fit the bill but are hard to come by and still have canvas which I would like to stay away from if at all possible.

Is there any make or model of true travel trailer that is relatively short, light weight, and focuses on bed space rather than luxurious bathrooms, full kitchens, and ritzy interiors. I want something spartan for hunting and fishing but has a lot of bed space. We camp in some cramped areas thus the need for short and light weight. Any ideas as I cannot find something to meet these qualifications. I am looking for used for price reasons but if there is a new make/ model for very reasonable price that may be ok also.

Thanks in advance.

I should have qualified my original statement better. I am looking for used because of $$ but may be able to afford new if there were relatively cheap ones I have not seen. Outbacks are not cheap and they have not been out long enough to have reasonable used price tag either, have they?

Check used Jayco models. Or if you are handy, I've seen some utility trailers converted. Is this just for huning and fishing trips or also family outings? I really think Jayco is worth looking into - new or used.

A buddy of mine has a 2000 KZ Sportsman UltraLite. It's got 2 bunks (4 beds) up front, a hard queen slide in the rear, and the sofa makes for 2 more sleeping spots. Total 8 person sleeping capacity. It also happens to be for sale, but we're quite a distance from where you live.

It's a little longer than you want at 23'-1", but you might want to take a look at the Rockwood 2306; it has a queen up front and three bunks in the back.

You can build one on line at RV Wholesalers.
