I am sure the model they had on display at the PBR was an off the rack F350 *rolls eyes* Consideringit was pimped out and I am guessing a diesel, that price sounds about right for an MSRP. On current SD's the Powerstroke is a $6000 option. Add in an optional auto tranny with Torqushift and you have close to $8-10,000 in powertrain options. By contrast the V10 was a $600 option when I looked last. For me it was a no brainer if I was to replace my Titan with an F250. FX4 with the V10 cost less than building an XLT with what I wanted. It takes alot of towing to get $6000 back of diesel premium price.

This way they can show increased sales dollars and book revenue as soon as the truck is built. Then the $30,000 rebate is a marketing expense in a later period.

At least the state of CA loves huge rebates because we pay sales tax on the gross sales amount before rebate

Is Ford Credit going to offer 15 year loans to make the payments affordable?!?!?!

No, but GMAC is asking for another $4.28 Billion in TARP funds- maybe they'll finance it for you!

There are many in this country that would like to see all Diesel Trucks go away. When it cost more to build the Truck than you can sell it for its not going to sell. As for warranty's they are just as good as the company that issued it. If Ford, GM, Chysler go under the warranty isn't worth the paper its written on. Just ask those Teton owners. But you for sure can buy any Truck for less than the window sticker. I have sold Trucks I know for a fact the MSRP is just a starting point. However I have sold many Trucks for the Sticker price. By the time we got done playing games with trade-in, rebates in lieu of 0% finance, discounts etc I have no idea what the actual price I paid for the truck was.

Don't you people realize U.S. currency is hitting new lows almost every day? With the value of the U.S. dollar shrinking like it is, the prices you are seeing now may be bargain prices by 2011.

Last October I bought a dodge 2500 diesel with a 48k sticker for 30k. If they really want to sell a truck, they will move off the sticker price quite a bit.

I was in the market a couple of weeks ago. No 2010s on the lot, the last 2009s were lariat, diesels, 4x4s. Stickers from 42k to 52k. There were NO deals to be made. They didn't need the space on the lot and they were not going to let any model go. I offered 39k for the 43k stickered vehicle and they didn't even entertain that offer. Finally ordered what I wanted. I don't think I got a smokin' deal but at least I didn't buy a bunch of options I din't want.

Wow!! I didn't realize this was going to light so many fires...Come on guys, I've bought trucks over the years and realized sticker isn't always what you get them for but come on. I really don't believe that it costs that much to make them. I do know that for those prices I'll buy MDT's. I like my 5500 Chevy and I suppose I'll get every dollars worth out of it....
