Golden Age Passport was a lifetime admission permit issued by the National Park Service to seniors. It has been discontinued, and it's replacement has an annual fee (I believe).

Check out this linkfor more info.... They have changed it some since I got mine. When I got mine it was $10 for a "Golden Age Passport" good for the rest of my life. Still a good bargain.

Senior Pass if you are you are 62 or older and Access Pass if you are disabled. And it is good at more that the National Parks. The Forest Service, National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Bureau of Reclamation honor the passes at sites where Entrance or Standard Amenity Fees are charged. Some Corps of Engineers and Tennessee Valley Authority sites may also accept the passes.

If you are active or retired military, the Air Force and Army have camp sites off Canyon Lake also that are nice. I looked at them before we got our RV because they also have motor homes, cabins and screened camp sites to rent.

What used to be the Golden Age Passort is now called the America the Beautiful Senior Pass and it is still purchased for a one-time $10 fee. I have the Golden Age, my DW has the America the Beautiful Senior Pass.

We hope to retire there in 5 years or so. Bought property in Mystic Shores. Getting tired of cold weather and snow (got nearly 2' last Wednesday and Thursday).

Used to sail a catamaran on Canyon Lake when I was still active duty. It's a beautiful place to get away from the city. Didn't have an RV back then but DS and I would just take sleeping bags and sleep on the cat under the stars. Nice memories...
