I brought a stay awhile kit from Cw., but when trying to install I found it doesn't fit as discribed on the packaging. I think it is for a trailer.
After looking at it for a while I think all I need is a tee and some
ext. pipe.
Has anyone tried this? I did a search but didn't get any hits.
Thanks,

I used a an Extend a Stay kit for my motor home. It has some check valves and maybe an excess flow preventer which a simple T would not have. I would go with the right product. Can you take the one you bought back and exchange it?

The "Extend-a-stay" only comes with a 6' hose to connect an external tank. I will have to buy a 25' hose from the local supply store so that the bottle can set at the front or back of the MH.

What I brought was a stay awhile delux kit. It comes with two hoses a 12 ft and a 5 ft. The problem is it has pol connection between the supply and regulater. I have just one POL connection from the supply tank(rv). I would have to put in a adapter to the stay awile port. Another thing is the 12 ft hose has a POL (old tank connection.
I cannot think that I was the only one that has had to deal with this.
Thanks for the info.

I've put a system on two class A's and a class C. We had issues such as placement of the portable tank due to slides, differing plumbing, and use of an LP high pressure quick disconnect. All were solved without major pain with a bit of advanced planning and a little common sense.
In one class A we had to run about 25' of black iron pipe to the rear of the RV due to the fact that the RV LP tank was between the rails and behind the forward axle. In cases like these, use high pressure LP hoses when connecting to fixed plumbing and plumbing that may vibrate and move. Although copper lines will work they are much more susceptible to stress cracking due to flexing and vibration. In addition, most common LP spuds today have flow limiters to keep fools from making idiot mistakes and blowing up the backyard BBQ. To use for RV high flow situations you need to get special spuds or drill out the ones commonly available or you'll have problems with heaters causing the limiters to set.
If you need specifics, PM me and I can tell you how I set ours up. All are a bit different, but all worked just fine.

I just bought a extend a stay valve on e-bay for 35 dollars. I bought the hoses locally. They are made under thr Mr Heater brand. I bought a 5ft hose that connects the propane tank to the motorhome, and a 12 ft hose to connect the grill or other accesories . Total cost for everything was around 65 dollars. The local rv dealer wants $105.00 for the same exact setup. Takes about 2 minutes to install. DON'T FORGET TO CHECK FOR LEAKS WITH A SOAPY WATER SOLUTION.

The POL on the 'T' screws into your existing RV tank, with the regulator that was removed from the tank screwed into the other end. The hose with the POL on one end gets connected at the small end to the smaller of the two capped connection points on the 'T', with the POL attached to the new remote tank. The remaining connection point is used to connect BBQ's and such that require an unregulated feed. The shorter hose normally has the POL, while the longer one usually has a throw-away tank fitting.
