I was contemplating posting this in the "Tow Vehicles" section, but I figured that I would get better info here since the primary mode of transportation are trucks like mine in here. I have a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD 2WD along with a Palomino Bronco 1200. The truck has the factory flares and i'm running 265/75R16E tires. When I have the camper on the truck, I leave the tailgate down since the floor of the camper is not designed to carry a load unsupported. I haven't had an issue yet, but I don't want to start tearing up my tailgate by having it down. The best thing that I can see doing is getting a good set of mud flaps/splash guards. I know there are a few of you out there that have a similar application as mine and I would love to see some pictures of what you have done and if it has worked well for you even if you don't have them there for the tailgate reasons. If you have a decent set of mud flaps on your truck, let me see'em. I'd like to see all applications, but if you have a 1500, 1500HD, 2500, I especially want you. I want these to serve a purpose and also look good.
Thanks in advance.

If I had it to do all over again, I think I'd go with this style over the traditional mud flap.

I know you were asking about a GM product, but here is mine. I bought the OEM ones and they were simple to install. I also added wheel well liners. They really help to keep the rock chips down.

If you want something you can remove, look at the Roadmaster website they have a removable mudflap. (Roadwing) They are pricey, but I am going to build one with the flap full width for my mh to protect my toad.

Another vote for the duraflap brand :
http://www.duraflap.com/chev-cls1500.html
I went with these in extra long on my 2500hd to protect the trailer I sometimes tow behind. On the front, I went with the molded ones from GM.

I have duraflaps now and am disappointed in the protection they offer. I believe they are too short. I passed on buying the bra for my boat because of the flaps and now have many rock dings in my bow because of that decision.

The ones for the 4X4 are about 2 inches longer.

Noted but in my particular case, Dodges naturally sit high and with air bags, it's not enough.

Thanks everyone....keep'em coming. I've seen the DuraFlap ones from an article in RV Life magazine. They're on the high price side for me right now. I like the molded ones like Tizi's. Does anyone have the Husky brand? The same manufacturer that makes the Husky Liner floor Liners. They seen to be the popular ones down here in the local Truck shops. I'm going to check GM to see what they offer since I haven't checked them yet.
