My 95 is still pulling strong with 220 k on it. Dragged my 40 foot fiver to the campground today to take advantage of the good weather.
Would like a newer truck, but no sense in replacing this one.

to me it's the best diesel engine ever put in a light duty truck. I just sold my 96 F-250 crew cab 4x4 with 278K miles on it. What a great looking truck and an even tougher truck. That thing was a beast. That body style was the last of the "tough looking" trucks. I hated to sell mine but had to upgrade due to "accidentally" buying to big of a 5er. I know that I'll regret one day selling the 7.3 but I just couldn't afford to have the 7.3 sit around. The 7.3 gotta better MPG than the new truck in my sig, SAD...
Gotta love the 7.3

Have a 02 7.3. As said, part way through 03 was the last of the 7.3s. There are lots of the out there, just inspect good. Watch for rusting oil pans - motor has to come out to replace it properly. Bought mine iwth 66k on it just over 2 years ago. Now at 105k and going strong. The weakest link in the powertrain on these trucks is the auto tranny. Keep fresh fluid in it and get a temp gauge.
An no, mine is not for sale. Runs great stock. Runs like a scalded cat not stock. Pulls like a locomotive.

Willcamp4 wrote: The 7.3 Powerstroke was produced in Ford trucks in different variations from 1994 through mid 2003. It is an extremely durable engine that gets good power and mileage, even when towing. It lends itself well to upgrades without reducing durability, as long as its done right. The intercooled engines started in '99 with the Super-Duty. The 7.3 trucks are holding their own in resale because of the comparative durability and are becoming more desirable than the newer ones for the same reason. They are noisier, but just keep going. I am really happy with mine.
You need to watch moding them after they switched form forged rods to PM rods.

I've put 58,000 miles on my 1996 7.3 F250 since I bought it new. It's only used for hauling trailers (mostly RVs), and it does a great job of that. The last RV trip I took in it was about 4000 miles, and averaged 14.7mpg at 55mph towing 6000 pounds of travel trailer.
It's never been in the shop. I'm betting it will outlast me.

My 2000 is not for sale. Well, I'm not stupid, so I would sell it for $50k, absolutely rock bottom. And no, I'm not joking, it would really take that for me to part with my truck.
