I Have a just purchased a new 8200# travel trailer, buying a 2008 Chevy duramax 3500 4x4 with only one single tires in rear. GOing to use to tow trailer at least once a month 200 miles or more and to use it for work and haul family around. Will I regret not getting a dually. The price is right and we will be using as my family vehicle around town. We put over 35k miles on a veh a year. Reason not getting a dually is I found this fully loaded right price. Cant find a dually LTZ with in my price $40k. Thks all

you have a nice truck and are towing a lot less than I am. I have a 2003 Ford F350 SRW with a 7.3 PS and I am pulling 11,500# and she does just fine... you are definitely OK and under your allowable weight. Enjoy

That's more than enough truck for that trailer with room to grow. Using a dually for an every day driver is not easy. Go for the SRW. JM$.02

You picked a great truck for your intended purpose.
A dually is not necessary for the tongue weight of a TT. (Much different than the pin weight of a 5th wheel.)
As you said, "we will be using it as my family vehicle around town." You will not regret not having a dually when you start maneuvering and parking "around town."

First let me say you made a good choice in Truck, the Duramax/Allison is a proven combo. No you want have a problem towing the TT and you can always upgrade. But I believe you can never have to much Truck. Very few ever down size. GBY...

You may regret if you move to a LARGE fifth wheel. Until then enjoy some camping.

You will be fine with the single rear wheel truck.
Why bother asking the question now, after you already bought the truck? What's done is done. You will know later on if you regret your decision or not. In any case, it's too late to do anything about it now, so may as well just enjoy it and be happy.

man it is too early on to start getting the heebie jeebies.
And then someone insinuates that you cant use the truck with a 5th wheel - gees
you are in the big green zone - - Enjoy and watch out for the urban legends.
