More about crappie_fisherman

The experiences we have had as a family camping & seeing our GREAT country and the memories we are making with our daughters…you cannot put a price on that.

The Open Road Forums have been an amazing place to learn about RV’ing for me as well! What an amazing group of people here! I have continued to learn about towing, tow ratings, hitches, setups, etc…it is one of my passions. No one should have to deal with an improper / unstable towing setup! There are so many things that can be done to improve a situation…too many simply think what they are feeling is “normal” and don’t ask for help…WRONG!

If you cannot tell I thoroughly enjoy crappie fishing (pronounced cr-ahhhh-pie). I have been doing it for the last 15 years and everyone that tries my fish fries for the first time then loves crappie too!

I have learned much in life…and it seems the biggest lesson I have learned has come out of my motorcycle accident. Thru adversity, I have learned patience and tolerance.

A little about my life changing experience. I was riding my Harley in Colorado as I negotiated a hairpin curve, 2 deer were standing where I needed to be. I swerved and missed the deer but ended up 10’ down a tree lined embankment in the middle of a secluded state park. I impacted a tree and sustained life threatening internal injuries as well as a head injury (yes I had a helmet on!). God gave me the strength to HIKE up the embankment to get to help as I was all alone except for HIM. My guardian angel stopped and called for help. A helicopter flew me to a level 1 trauma center where I spent 13 weeks, 1200 miles away from my little girls. My wife flew in as I was in the 1st of 15 surgeries that she had to sit thru. I spent the first 3 days unconscious and awoke on a ventilator. Thru the grace of GOD I am here today and enjoying my second chance with my family and friends. God gave me what I needed in my wife…for she got me thru this experience! PM me if you want to hear more!
