RE: Pulling a toad

No matter how hard you look you just can't see all the obstacles that will cause you to unhook the toad. Just don't panic. Stuff happens. Take your time and go through all the unhook/rehook steps. If you forget a step like braking the toad because you are in a hurry you could create an even bigger problem. Take your time, do it right, and continue on your merry way like nothing ever happened. You'll be fine.

RE: installing an awning

I think it would be very difficult to install. Is all of the hardware on the motorhome and just missing the canvas? There are precise adjustments that have to be made for the awning to work properly.

RE: Canoe on roof

I'm not in favor of putting anything on the roof. I've had roof problems with previous motorhomes and there is nothing worse that water leaks from the roof. Once you realize you have a leak--it's too late. Think of all the negatives: Stress on the roof, walking on the roof, added height, wind resistance, stress from the added weight, etc.. Think of the ladder as a convience for preventive maint. and not storage.
