Really cold fridge

My fridge runs really cold in the fall and winter. It's a Dometic 3-way that came in our 97 Lance, not sure the model. Last weekend we went to the Washington Coast. I have it on "1" and in the morning the temp inside is 15 degrees. I've started turning it off at night, since the door is not being opened and turn it back on in the morning. I was wondering if this is typical for fall & winter use?

RE: What's your opinion of what Michelin told me?

I think there was a lawyer standing behind her.
Ditto this thread and the previous one before it. Its all about liability. No one is going to tell you or put it in writing (lol), that it's OK to adjust the tire pressure based on load. Because if you have or cause an accident the insurance companies are going to put the blame on someone. Most likely it will be the one with the deapest pockets.
I tried getting this information from our local Ford dealer in Puyallup. The service guy told me to go by the door sticker pressures, which I'm not using without a load.

RE: Road Rage...Chopper vs Motorhome

In the picture, the vehicles appear to be in the left lane, not the right. Also, if the motorcycle was run over by the motorhome and dragged 500 feet, there is no way it would be found in the condition and position we see it in the pic. That pic is obviously fake, or doesn't have anything to do with the accident described in the text.
The story says he was unable to steer and hit the center divider, that's consistent with the picture. If he was unable to steer due to the front wheels lifting that means all braking was being done by the rear wheels of a motorhome so 500 feet to stop from 55mph is not unreasonable. There's no reason the chopper couldn't have ended up like that, the frames are pretty wide and once it hit the pavement there's no reason it would have necessarily fell over since it's wedged under the bumper.
I was thinking the same thing. No front brakes with wheels lifted off the ground or else not enough weight on them to grab the pavement and just slid.

RE: Ford F350 rear axle 3.73 versus 4.10 and Rim/Tire Choices.

I have 97 F-350 gas 460 with 4.10 rear end. I've never gotten better than 9 mpg. I've come close to 10, lol. It hauls great. I only use it to pull our boat & TC. Its not a daily driver. I have the 16" rims, tires are 265/75-16.

RE: Fort Worden State Park, WA July 10-12, 2009 Trip

Wow, great pictures and information on Fort Worden. I know the Forts are pretty popular. We are going to Fort Flagler in middle of September. That was the soonest reservation we could get.

RE: Excursion to Lake Washington

We gone through the cut and ate at Chandlers Cove, but never up to Kirkland. Looks like a great dow out. How was the water? The north side of Lake Washinton can get pretty rough.

RE: 16.5 rims with E-load tires

Our 97 ford came with 16.5" rims. I had to get rid of them. I couldn't find E rated tires. I tired Les Schwab, Discount Tire, even TireRack.com. So I posted an add on CL for trade them for 16" Ford Alum rims. It worked. I got 4 of the Alum rims and he got 16.5" rim with 33" tires.
Good luck. Chris

RE: Stable-Loads Work !

I have a 97 F-350 crew cab. I had 3/4" between front over loads and about 3" on the back. I only installed the Stableload for the back overload(2 of the 4). Putting the front ones in, would make them always put pressure on the front overload spring. I thought this would make the ride too rough when trucks empty. The back pads would hit everytime I went over a bump, so I shaved them down 1/4" with a die grinder. This helped with the harsh impact. I now have about 3/4" between front and rear overload contact. The ride with camper on is improved, stiffer and less sway. I still want to experiment and put all four on with my shorter ones on the front and the other set on the back.
I've read some put all four on and they like the ride when empty. I just think it would be very stiff with all 4 on and empty and front overloads always making contact. I don't understand why all four Stableloads are identical, but the gap between front and rear overload is differnt on my Ford.

RE: Lance Owners Manuals / Brochures On-Line 1999 - 2009

My wife found the envelope with all our paper work and manuals. If anyone wants a copy of the 97 Lance brochure and owners manual, PM and I can scan it at work and email it.

RE: Camper accident

A good friend of mine has a white dually dodge and that camper. I had to send him an email to see if it was him. It wasn't.
That sure sucks. I guess you can look on the bright side, you don't see a pool of brown water around the camper.

RE: Closet rod mod

Nice work. Our a bracket like that in it. We have plastic hangers and you have to tilt/angle them to get them in the hole. I only think about replacing it like you did or get metal hangers when I'm fight with it.
(Note to self) Replace rod hanger.

RE: Pink Stuff

You should drain the hot water tank before trying to flush out the pink stuff. My cold water lines flushed quickly, but after a while trying to flush my hot water, I realized the water heater was full of anti freeze.
