Problem with Dealer

Looking for opinions. We bought our 2007 Fleetwood Utah CP new from Campers Barn in Kingston NY.....our first time out, the plumbing from the sink leaked....we took it to Campers Barn in Poughquag NY (which was their sister store a lot closer to us)....they fixed the leak and I got the camper back for our next trip....sink leaked again....called them and told them it's still leaks, they said to bring it in, I told them I was winterizing it and putting it away for the winter being it was that time of year, they said fine, bring it back in the spring. When the spring rolled around, I brought it in, and again, they said it was fixed....and again, it leaked.....I told them to order the parts under warranty and I'll fix it myself, they said fine, not a problem. I spent that entire summer hearing them say "wrong color came in"...."wrong size plumbing came in"....."parts at Fleetwood are hard to get"....I winterized it again ....still leaking. This season I see that the Poughquag store has shut it's doors (they are the ones I was dealing with)....now Kingston is claiming it is no longer under warranty....I told them it was never fixed !!!...they are grasping at straws saying "maybe it wasn't winterized correctly"...."bring it in, let us look at it and maybe you pay for parts, we'll cover labor"....I told them again "it was never fixed, should be warranty", again they said, "let's take a look". My problem, is it worth me towing this thing for almost 2 hours to get fired up when he sez "you pay for parts"....or do I write them off and just get the parts locally and fix it myself ???

RE: We've infected our son!

Whatever they get, make sure it has a Head....I believe that would qualify it as a second residence and interest on the loan (if any) would be tax deductable

RE: We've infected our son!

If they tow a TT or Hybrid, they'd probably be better off. If it's raining, you back in and unhook and set up later....with a Pop Up, everybody will be waiting for YOU to set up as they watch from inside the dry tow vehicle

RE: We've infected our son!

I would recomend a Cassette Potty instead of those midnight trips to the bathroom....don't want to send the kids alone, which means you are going too. A Slide Out would give more floor space to move around.

RE: Dark side here we come-maybe

I've been tempted myself, only problem I have is set up and take down in the rain....got A/C, so heat is not an issue. I like the openess of a Pop Up and the ease of storage and travel....but the idea of just backing in during the rain, jumping in the camper, and finish setting up when the weather is better sounds pretty darn good. Good Luck with your choice....as long as you get out there and enjoy.

RE: 1998 Coleman UTAH CP Awning zipper / case problem.

I forget the name of the place....it is on Rt.7 in Brookfield, they share the same parking lot as Lew White Appliances...across from the new condos, Newbury Commons, or something like that.

RE: 1998 Coleman UTAH CP Awning zipper / case problem.

I took my Awning/Bag right off the camper (2 screws, and slide it forward and off the rail) and brought it to a local boat shop and they sewed in a new, and stronger zipper....I think it was about $50

I believe that if the Pop Up has a Head (Toilet), it is considered a second residence and the interest on the loan is tax deductable

RE: Another awning question

Okay, lemme make sure I understand. Roll out first(we did that). Put out the two end supports. Then the two inside horizontals? Then the two outside horizontals? and THEN the center support pole? Is that right? I unroll the Awning....extend the 2 outer legs and leave them out on the ground (the center leg is last to work with)....take the center support rod for the roof of the Awning and stick it in the center hole of the Awning...lift it up with the center pole in the hole....put the butt end (rubber tipped) on the roof of the pop up and extend it to tighten up the Awning....while you are doing this, the 2 outer legs that you adjusted earlier, should have swung into a standing position....when you adjust that center pole to tighten up the Awning, it should stand on it's own....then you can add the other support poles and adjust that 3rd leg (and the others if needed)....I really should make a video of this...once you "see" it done, you'll understand just how easy it is to do by yourself

RE: Camper Leveling

I carry 2- 2x10's and a couple pieces of 12x12 squares of 1/2 inch plywwod....I can usually look at the bubble and get it pretty damn close to perfect on the first shot....comes with experience. Or you can try one of these BAL Leveler

RE: Thetaford cassette toilet help

Mine doesn't have aa obvious "Switch" to flush....it has an area that you press to activate the "pressure Switch". As far as testing the pump....without actually seeing a wiring diagram, I'd have to guess that the pump would have a "Red" and a "Black" wire..."Red" to a jumper wire, then to a positve side of a 12 volt battery...and the "Black" to a jumper wire to the negative side of the same battery....should run the pump:h

RE: Another awning question

unroll the awning all the way....I pull out the 2 awning legs and adjust them longer (leave the center one for last)....somewhere about 4 holes.....grab one of the upper support poles....put the one end into the center position of the awning...lift the awning up with the center support pole in place and put the rubber end of the pole in place on the top of the pop up roof....at this time, you should be getting some help from the awning legs swinging out to help hold up the awning...once the center support pole is tightened, and the legs swung out, the awning should stand on it's own....then you can place the 2 outer support poles and adjust that center leg.:B

RE: Another awning question

I have the same Awning and set mine up by myself in a matter of minutes....but will admit, it easier when the Wife is around to hand me the first pole....otherwise I keep it within reach.

RE: Propane leak - we say YES, dealership says NO

Most of the propane fittings are in spaces vented to the outside, for instance the fridge and hot water tank have vents to the exterior. However, if the stove was leaking through one of the burners, then the propane would exit inside the trailer. Three inspections at the dealership have turned up nothing, so I am leaning toward this explanation at this point. We are going to try re-creating the scene, and see what happens. If we do not smell gas after several hours with the water heater on, the furnace working, etc., then we will open a stove burner ever so slightly and see if the bunk starts filling up again. I'm crossing my fingers that this is the case. It would make things a lot easier. Thanks so much to everyone who has offered advice and suggestions. I appreciate it! Let me get this straight....you're gonna recreate the scenerio by cracking open the Stove a little to see if the Bunk End fills up with Propane.....don't ya think that is a little dangerous, one spark, even static electricity, and KABOOM! ???....we had the exact situation once, found the Propane Tank empty, they say the bottom of the tank stinks to all heck, they were right.

I've heard of some folks attatching Vinyl Siding "J" Channel to the front or rear edge of the roof to direct water away from the tenting
