Shocks for Roadtrek 210

Approaching 30,000 miles on my 2008 ROADTREK 210......I switched to Bilsteins on my wide body 2002 Xplorer and loved the improvement in handling. Any Roadtrekers know which model Bilstein is recomended for a 210 and is that the best choice?? Thanks

RE: Class B's that will fit in a garage.

Years ago, Ray Frank, inventor of the TRAVCO Motorhome, came up with the solution.......XPLORER MOTORHOMES made the first calass B (1968?) and it was garageable.......I had a 1976, Xplorer 228, with a dropped floor.(ideas later stolen by Roadtrek) but with a low roof.......great molded 1 piece fiberglass roof and rear end, permenant rear bed and front lounge.......of course, you can only stand up in the kitchen and bathroom areas.
Xplorer made that model occassionaly as late as 1999-2000 I believe.
I lived in mine for 3 years, full time......a perfect rig.....
Look for a pre-owned one and have it 'restored' to new condition.....it would be a classic and cost a lot less then anything being made today

RE: How to start engine by house batteries

Xplorer 230 XLW.......Yes,emergency start switch is the silver button......and radio powered by house batteries when camped switch.......how convenient (and important)....I do miss those features that my 4 Xplorers had.....definatley the classiest most logical Class B ever made.......I am enjoying my new ROADTREK 210,(only because Xplorer is gone) but miss the sensible features that all other converters omitted to save a few $$$...If only the builders would travel in one for a few years....they could definatley make their motorhomes more trouble free.....and user friendly....

RE: Running A Business From Your 'B'

Was mostly the 'alone years' I did the B's......
1976 Xplorer 228.....100,000 miles
1987 Xplorer 230.....1oo,ooo miles
1995 Xplorer 230.....100,000 mioles
2002 Xplorer 230 XLW-widebody, 198,000 miles (the best)
2008 Roadtre 210 Versatile......it's good, but it broke my eart when Xplorer closed the doors in Brown City Michigan....They invented the Motorhome and then the Class B.............

RE: Running A Business From Your 'B'

Got my first B in 1976! an Xplorer 228 with all the toys for $14,500.
Those were the days! Been on the road "folksinging" (acoustic blues)ever since.....was full time for 22 years....and now go on the road for 6-7 months each year....run mail order business from my B (cds-DVDs etc), and do 80 shows a year from coast to coast....DW is a special ed teacher (K-1-2)and joins me when school lets out.....Have had some larger coaches in the past, 4 Xplorers and now a Roadtrek 210 Versatile....I have been fortunate to have had a career for over 30 years....in motorhomes and wouldn't trade the life for anything!
I know that I'm a very lucky man.....

"solid surface" counter-top scratch removal

2008 Roadtrek 210, I believe counter top is not Corian, but looks similar. It does scratch easily....My Xplorer's Formica counter top looked new after 7 years......wondering how I deal with this new innovation in counter-tops?

RE: "Space Saver" Coffee Maker in RT210

2007 Roadtrek 210...Versatile....I removed the ratling CM, without too much trouble and put a paper towel hanger in the space....looks like it was made to be there........The Premium CM makes lousy coffee anyway...I am a coffee snob....make one cup at a time with a stove top esspresso maker from the old country....

RE: Waterhose input

I have had a roll up flat hose (believe it is called a TORO in a red casing) since 1980! The best, most convenient "do-dad" for any motor home....takes up no space....never had a problem with it.
Also....in 1978 a friend gave me a push button sparker for lighting the stove, that requires no battery or flint.....still works! except on very humid days.....these products have been with me since my first XPLORER 228 which I bought new for $14,500.(LOADED) back in 1976 (IT'S LONG GONE)....

RE: Manuel Macerator Pump not working

Manual push rod is for unjamming or unclogging when there is a problem....on my 2008 RT210, it is behind the slide out drawer forward. I have found it only pushes in a small way (maybe an inch, as I recall) and as I understand it, you twist the handle to manually grind up what is stuck in there....

RE: looking for informatin on class b xplorer rv

Xplorer did offer all electric (no propane) model so it was not custom......
1-inside quality is first rate....some of the fabric choices were not very attractive in my opinion in 2003-4......cupboards, lockers, fabric and all wood trim still looked good when I traded her in....linoleum floor showed wear. Bathroom was adequate
2-Rear queen was comfortable......front sofa/sleeper not long enough for a tall person, and made walking aft impossible when opened to bed.
3-Slide out pantry was great (made of wood) in rear queen model......
4-Nice feature was hot water was heated while driving..from engine heat..(hot water heating propane or elec when camped)
5-In six years and almost 200,000 miles, only repairs were..
a-replace fedder A/C
b-repair Dodge rear end
c-seal overhead windows (with plumber putty-only the only thing that worked-inside application)
d-replace Onan genny fuel pump with 1400 hrs on it
e-lost a few wheel liner hubcaps until I used zip lock ties to secure
Hope this helps you decide.....

RE: looking for informatin on class b xplorer rv

DRW did make the dodge a great driver.......bielston shocks made it even better, then at 80,000 miles I switched to Toyo open country tires and that was unbelievable......Hated to part with my Xplorer...
